    rotary polisher

I believe the Flex14-2-150 was designed for backing plates up to 150mm (roughly 6 inches). Therefore, it would be a bit underpowered for the heavy use of boat polishing with larger pads. But Flex has the PE14-1-180, probably more suited and beefed up for the job.

Question about Menzerna HCC300 vs PG1000 combination

300 has more cut, but less finish.

Question about Menzerna HCC300 vs PG1000 combination

PG1000, imho, is more rotary oriented, rock in a bottle type of product. After 300 came out, the 1000 became redundant, since the finishing is worse than the 300. I never tried the new 1000 version, but the old one that I have is used primarily as a safer alternative before having to wetsand it...

AGO Admins - Please help!!! Corrupted User Profile

My user profile is bugged too. VBulletin avatar, which I was able to remove it, and when I go my profile, it says 'This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view. '. A database virus, perhaps?

    Most frustrating day ever! HELP!

My personal experience with Audi Q5, 2014, black, wasn't easy as well. It is a 'tricky' clearcoat; it has, imho, a extremely hard clearcoat top, but if you work on a previously polished Q5, it becomes softer, hence my guess of a hard clearcoat top. I believe the choice of D300 and Meg's MF was...

Jescar Correcting Compound and Micro Finishing Polish - Top Shelf Abrasive Technology

Another excellent, in-depth review, Mike, thanks a lot. I also liked the pad choice, the blue hybrid, you don't see a lot of reviews about it, people seems to choose the orange pad more often instead (I really like the blue pad, I find it more efficient in hard clears). Along with Griot's FCC...

My 17 hour work lost into the sun using Rupes systemblue

The grey, green and blue pads, all open cells, wouldn't be my choice on soft paints. But they are a killer on medium to hard paints. As dlc said, maybe the yellow and white would suit you better. I would try UHS on yellow, and Keramik on white. The yellow is, imho, the most versatile Rupes pad...

FLEX 3401 not working right, erratic speed... Please diagnose!

Probably the electronic module, aka speed selector. I've seen a couple with this problem. If it is, it will be a bit costly, around 90$ for the part alone.

Application of Gtechniq CSL+EXOV2 did not turn out right

The old Gtechniq combo, C1 topped with Exo, the company´s instructions emailed at me (I asked them before trying it) was wait four hours before applying the second layer. I believe the first layer has to harden, but not fully cure, before apllying Exo, or else it wouldn´t bond properly. I...

New Product Recommendations for heavy defect removal.

M100, mf pads and Rupes 15 works well for me. You can add Griot's FCC, never used but killer reviews (Robert DiTerlizzi just loves it, and I take his word for it), Menzerna 400, M101, Scholl S3, Sonax CutMax (oh man, the more I use, the more I like it) to name a few. If you need rock in a...

    Soft Black Paint

I will try it, Hump, since I have almost all the ingredients mentioned in your recipe. The only item missing is megs' black thin foam disk, but I'll use something similar.

Slowly moving away from Chemical Guys. What do you guys recommend?

What Joe@NextLevelDetail said sums up what I think. Regarding polishes, menzerna trio (400/2500/4000) and meguiar's m100 or m101 and m205 would be a nice start. When you start to run out of your CG stock then you do dedicated searchs in each segment, to see what is the best cost/benefit.
