    Permanon

I used the Supershine a few years ago after taking part in a Group Buy (Detailing World). The product is incredibly easy to apply, it is as easy as washing a panel. I was underwhelmed by the durability but others seem to really like it

    Leather seats

I use Gtech C6 on the leather. I bought it for use on interior trim where it gives a very very durable matte finish and then found it works very well on leather

    Permanon

I have only tried the normal Permanon, I did like the two cleaners, the shampoo was very slick but could not get on with the sealant it was however very easy to apply

    Paint defects and optical illusions

I agree, it is an optical illusion but my understanding is the illusion is created by the eye/brain i.e. perception

    Aquapel or GTechniq G1?

I used Aquapel for a few years and have used G1 for the last few years. I would say both are very good products, Aquapel does not last anywhere near as long as G1 but Aquapel is cheaper. G1 requires more effort to apply to a windscreen i.e. 3 layers then wiped with IPA and a cotton cloth and...

    Intimidated

It is really impressive what a modern DA and polishes can achieve especially taking into account the MF pads The best advice I can think of is to buy a scrap panel, ideally one which matches your car & colour -this is not critical. Take your new DA or rotary and just start buffing with a mild...

    Hyper Polish without spray??

I wonder if something like this would be better than the standard bottle Kingfisher 1.5L Hand Pressure Sprayer - Kingfisher available at Toolbox ideally something smaller but I am struggling to find anything below 1 litre

    Meguiar's M101 Foam Cut-Compound versus Swirls!

Re: Meguiar's M101 Foam Pad Polish versus Swirls! What I like most about M101 is just the sheer polishing range. On a wool pad or normal polishing pad it simply works without fuss and finishes impressively well. I have only used it on a rotary but many seem to get impressive results.

    Hyper Polish without spray??

That looks very familiar to me. I do wonder if it is possible to buy a small bottle which could be pressurised, rather like the large bottles which are used for weed sprays or wooden fences. I have not found any but I am sure they are out there somewhere

    Menz SF4500 /Optimum Finish Polish/WG Finish GLaze

If you like the Optimum polish, I would simply stick with it. The Menz range is very good but half the battle in detailing is to find things you like and are happy to work with. As for needing Optimum finish polish, my view is it will depend on the paint. If the paint is very hard it may not...

    Review: CarPro CeriGlass

Great review. I really like Ceriglass, hard work on a rotary, I guess you would need arms like Popeye to work it by hand to get the same result

    Waxing and Glass care questions

Aquapel is a great product and excellent value for money. G1 is more expensive but lasts significantly longer. Ceriglass would be an ideal way of getting the glass nice and clean

    Wax vs polish

Just to confuse things, polishes can also be non abrasive i.e. they are chemical cleaners but completely agree with others, polishes are normal designed to remove paint. Different grades of polishes out there. Compounds generally remove (relatively) quite a lot of paint, polishes remove less...
