Removing Swirls from small areas and near edges.

Get a Rupes Mini. You can't beat it in smaller areas. Regardless of what you decide to use be real darn careful around sharp corners and any edge.

    Rupes Pads

I've tried to make that clear in many threads.....

    Rupes Pads

No..... Sonax Perfect Finish does not work well with any microfiber pads, at least in my experience. SPF with the Rupes yellow or white foam pads works extremely well. SPF has a tendency to build up, so make sure you have plenty of pads :dblthumb2: Sorry if I said it backwards before.

    Rupes Pads

(Greed pad + Zephir) and (White pad + Ultra Diamond) are two of my favorite combinations. I like Keramik (yellow polish) on Rupes yellow microfiber pads better than Rupes yellow polishing pad. I use Sonax Perfect Finish on Rupes yellow pad almost exclusively.

Upcoming Porsche (GT3) detail - need some advice

Sounds like you're just not putting enough on. I imagine 1 liter would be about right for a small hatchback. I had to use 2 liters on a white Mercedes sedan. Make sure every inch of the entire car is saturated. It should drip off the car onto the ground. Iron Out is expensive. I charge...

Upcoming Porsche (GT3) detail - need some advice

1 minute is not enough time to let Iron Out work. 5 minutes minimum, 15 minutes maximum. Let it soak indoors just like you are and don't let it dry. I do not spread it around by hand I just make sure everything is coated. I probably use too much but that's okay.

Upcoming Porsche (GT3) detail - need some advice

Advice: - Tape off the decals really well. These can be rather expensive to replace, and Porsche owners tend to love them. - Soak the car in Iron Out in the shade for 10-15 minutes. You'll be surprised what comes off when you rinse it. - Once you think it's rinsed off, keep rinsing. - Porsche...

    Is foaming enough?

You will never go wrong with a persoak no matter how "lightly dirty" you think a car is. The goal is to remove as many contaminants as possible using the least aggressive methods possible before a contact wash.

Audi TT Full Correction (Day Four - Final)

I had to channel the patience of Paul Dalton on this one. I admit I got upset with it more than once. I work slowly so another detailer could have done it in less time. Depends on the condition of the paint. If it's thrashed like this I can only get about one large panel out of a 3" disk...

    Surgical buffing possible with DA?

With all due respect I think you are wasting your time and money. Use the Megs polisher exactly as you are now and no further.

    When to use an AIO?

Auto Finesse Tripple is #1 in the AIO game right now. Very impressive product. The protection part of the AIO is weak though...put some wax over it.

Audi TT Full Correction (Day Four - Final)

Swissvax Mystery is my favorite wax on black. It will squeeze every last bit of depth out of black ***IF*** the paint is properly prepared. Otherwise you are wasting your money.

Audi TT Full Correction (Day Four - Final)

I appreciate that. It really was a monumental effort to save this car. I was very fortunate to get the results that I did. When the paint laughs at Rupes and Megs cutting disks with Rupes Zephire, you know you're in trouble. No way I could have done it without wet-sanding. 3M Trizact really...

    Old Wax Emergency

The best products I know of for old dried wax removal are Lusso Pant Cleaner and Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular.

Need more cut (MF Pad + M105), or just live with some scratches?

Wet sanding is much safer because it generates almost zero heat...clearcoats do not like heat. It leaves the surface completely flat, and it works very quickly.

    What product for coated leather?

    Leatherique.

Need more cut (MF Pad + M105), or just live with some scratches?

Stop looking for more aggressive polishes and pads. Wet sanding is much safer, faster, and effective.

    Started my sanding/buffing project

That really is a fantastic job my friend. I can tell you have wet sanded successfully before. Like Phillips says, "do not wet sand where you cannot get a polisher" and you did that. Excellent work around the emblems and such. If you were to sell this car, what would be an opening bid?

    Best finishing polish & why???

On Rupes pads it only takes 3 dime sized drops. On Rupes or Megs cutting disks you have to do a full prime.
