Older Cars: Dump $$$ or Trade In ???

My 2000 Toyota Echo had the same problem, I'd have to get out my Flintstone feet to get up a hill because of the loss of power - and in Tennessee, that can be a PITA. And it was the cat, also. Funny thing is I still got 38MPG riding for three years with that bad cat and a leaky exhaust...

    Handling the accidental lowball quote?

Here's one that he gave me just before I got married for the first time... "Remember, just because you bought a priceless painting doesn't mean you can't appreciate other works of art. Just don't get caught with your fingers in their paint." I should mention my dad is greek and, as far as I can...

Newbie Question - Polish Difficult to Remove

And if it's real hard, rubbing a little fresh polish on it with a microfiber applicator by hand will loosen it up as it dissolves back into the fresh polish. Lucky Joe, Wannabe Detailer Sent from my HTC DNA

    Wheel wells

I have a dedicated soft bristle brush for wheelwells but to clean, even though it's overkill, I drench them in bug & tar cleaner wipe it away with throw away microfibers then repeat with whatever spray cleaner is within reach (wheel cleaner, waterless wash, etc.) and apply trimwork conditioner...

    Dealer Installed Swirl Option!

I'll offer this personal opinion as well, since she's your new baby, even if she'll be you're Daily Driver... Do it all by hand the first time. ...you'll eventually get sucked in to getting a Dual Action buffer and using a machine, especially after you realize it can take up 30+ hours to do it...

**Random photos of anything... (that YOU have taken)**

How about my birthday girl. She turns 2yrs old in the morning and she loves her dollies... almost as much as her big brother's matchbox cars or her daddy's bmw. Sometimes I'll gun it and she'll get the most maniacal giggle. Lucky Joe, Wannabe Detailer Sent from my HTC DNA

A little tip, thought I'd share (scents/air fresheners)

Watercolor artist grade paper from your local Michael's or art supply shop, cut into 2x3" strips. Or steal a stack of perfume tester cards, lol. Blot them with a couple drops and then stir then in zip locks until testy to toss under the seats. ... just thinking out loud Lucky Joe, Wannabe...

    Dealer Installed Swirl Option!

Swirls are to black paint as flies are to... well you get the idea. Anyways, look up how to clay bar your car to remove contaminates after a good wash and then how to properly tape off your tirmwork and unless you find something deeper, I would just try polishing and waxing it. I doubt, not...

What Camera do you guys use?

+1 The wide angle lens on my camcorder cost almost $300 but when you're recording in HD having a wide angle lens that doesn't vingette when zoomed all the way out is essential. I'd also recommend a good polarized filter for whatever camera you decide upon because not only will it filter out...

    New Member

I like that, "student for hire". When I was in high school & college I used to spend my weekends driving out to wealthy neighborhoods soliciting, door to door, offering to clean their cars for then in their driveway. Sometimes I'd clear $500 for two days work but I gave it up when it became...

    Handling the accidental lowball quote?

My dad, brick mason by trade and lifelong handyman would say something along the long lines of... "You have a choice; you could find a way to squeeze an extra buck out of them, you could try upsell them additional services or you could be satisfied knowing you've probably earned a repeat...

    Biding my time...

Here's one of my future father-in-law's rides. He's taking out to Georgia this weekend, I'm sure it'll need to be cleaned when he gets back... And I was mistaken, it's an 89 Camero next to it, not a 73. LOL, no complaints from me, if be find with my girlfriend inheriting either of them. :D...

What Camera do you guys use?

Yes, because if I recall correctly the G15 is an all metal frame and the Rebel is plastic and while that won't save you from a "come to jesus moment" if you have a lens on it, for most of your shop photos you won't need one and having two kids my G10 has survived several 6ft drops without...

What Camera do you guys use?

The Canon G15 (or earlier models) is a good stepping stone between a point & shoot and a DSLR. It'll accept all the lenses of a Canon Rebel EOS and can shoot in RAW mode if you get into post-processing however it still has all the auto settings of their point & click cameras. If you're stuck...

    Software Development Quote...

“If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.” - Robert X. Cringely
