i've used both fk425 and oid. like 'em both but the cost savings of the oid concentrate tend to give it a nod. however, fk425 works much better on glass and lcd screens both in car and on laptop and tv.
i've had to cut 425 with distilled water when i was running out and worked very well...
i separate and store the paint from wheel towels in the plastic bins. wash separately as well. i use the costco towels for wheels since they're cheap and disposable. wheel towels get pretty bad since my audi's brake dust is never ending and i'm constantly wiping the wheels down. hate brake...
Meghan was kind enough to send me a bottle of the new product (formerly DP 4-1) to test out. Here are the findings compared to my beloved ONR. By the way I am a rinseless geek and haven't used a hose in over a year.
Concentration. Much improved over the former 4-1 chemistry. Only need half as...
my question is when comparing the pc using a 4" pad (suggested choice for corrective polishing vs. the flex 5.5 pads, is the flex that much better considering the price? have read that the flex doesn't have many backplate options...
thanks.
LS is a good beauty wax but doesn't last very long and is a veritable dust magnet. For silver, I now go to sealants. Brightens up the silver metallic more than wax IMO.
For this forum loyalists I like Wolfgang DPGP. WOWO, lasts and is economical.
kit scratch out works well. had to remove a bird crap etching last night. a couple of passes by hand with an mf removed the blemish completely. use it on my vintage watch crystal too...

scratchx 2.0 works well. had to remove a bird crap etching last night. a couple of passes by hand with an mf removed the blemish completely
here's another good one. kit scratch out. i use it on my vintage watch crystal. apply by hand and enjoy the results.
i use them as well. works best when folded into eighths. gives a nice cushion. great for qd paint, interiors and old ones for wheels. still use higher grade mfs for removing waxes and sealants.
totally agree. sealants give lighter colors that nice clear finish. lasts longer too. tried liquid souveran on metallic silver but thought it muted the flakes. so only use aw, dwg or wolfgang sealant as a lsp...
Love keeping the car clean and am especially anal about the windshield. Gotta be crystal clear.
But for some reason my windshield gets little aggravating nicks from road debris and its tough keeping them clean of dirt. Usually use something like DG 501 and white or orange pad but the polish...
oh i don't mind getting grimy...in the summer its one big sweatfest especially when detailing/polishing in the garage--even with fans going.
the brake dust splatter is merely annoying. really don't need the brush unless i'm trying to get way back in the rims. :D
