If it was me I'd charge between $90-$160 depending on size and condition. Obviously an Escalade will be more than a VW bug. AIO only - extra $20 for a basic sealant (like JS109 from CG or something like that)
NANOSKIN F T W!! - I've only gotten marring one time using them, it was on some very soft Ferrari paint. Nothing some 101 couldn't fix though. Just need LOTS of lube!
DING DING DING!!! THIS EXACTLY!!
Read Mikes threads on PRODUCTION detailing- which is what you're doing for a stealership. ALL they want is clean and shiny- why go through the extra time, effort AND cost to you to provide something that isn't desired nor appreciated? Sure you want to do a...
I have an 02 - I feel your pain. GET THE FLEX!! Best DA on the market IMHO. It cuts work time WAY down.
OP- amazing work. The before and afters are a testament to your skill!
This may sound a little crazy but when it comes to caked on dirt and brake dust I use diluted CG Grime Reaper in a spray bottle and some super fine grit steele wool to lightly loosen the dirt that won't otherwise come off. It takes a very light touch though.
I get what you're saying- I wish my assistant was still here so I could show a vid of what I'm talking about. There's been times where I am putting extremely light pressure on the machine on 6 while on an odd shaped panel and as soon as I put just a little more pressure it bogs. Even my PC...
I used V34 on a hex orange pad for an 02 M3 and got great results- this was with a Rupes 15. IMHO, M105 is comparable to V34. I like them both and have used them both. V34 dusts less but the M105 can be worked a LOT longer. I tend to like V34 when it's more humid out. JM.02
Just to clarify- when I say "bogs" on every detail I don't mean on every panel all over the vehicle. Just in certain places. Obviously I wouldn't be in business if it didn't work at all. It's just not what I expected after hearing how amazing Rupes machines were. that's all. I'll try some...
I want to try Menzerna as well. I have M101, M105 and M205 and love them all so far. (M105 dusts a bit, but it works so well) I've heard so many good things about Menzerna- they are on my wish list for sure!
Now the the fact that I'm not using Rupes pads, compounds or polishes may be parts of it. I'll have to get some to see if I'm getting better results. But I've def had many occasions where my Rupes would bog where the Flex blew right through it. Obviously with Forced rotation the Flex won't bog...
I don't know about the 458 but I know the 09 430 I do washes on had crazy soft paint so be careful of marring or micromarring. But as others have said, just wash it using the proper techniques and wash media and you'll be fine.
Apparently we all have different experiences- and please stop acting like you're the only one who details here. It's insulting.
And by all means discount what Mike Phillips says..... I'm sure you have your own forum, product lines, decades of experience in actual R&D with a real company...
Takes all kinds I guess.... Stay Fresh - while it's great to follow the manufacturers guidlines generally with pad selection etc it doesn't ALWAYS work. so you have to improvise (especially if you are in the middle of a detail) and go with a different pad and or polish combo to achieve the...
I have a LHR15 and a Flex 3401. The Flex is superior in every way. Best DA on the market IMO. The LHR15 barely has more power than a PC. Heck- the Harbor Freight has more power than the Rupes and it's a fraction of the price. Flex for the win!!
