    Durrmaid extractors

Hey Labster! When the time comes to get an extractor, shoot me a PM or email. I've got an Aztec but I want to go to something bigger.

Whatever you do, don't get the "Buffing with Confidence" video. It's horrible. It covers BASIC information about all the steps in detailing - not so much buffing.

    Durrmaid extractors

I'd stay away from the Durrmaid. I had one for almost a year before it quit working. I thought since it was under warranty, I'd just get it fixed and keep using it. The Durrmaid owner blamed the pump failure on me so my only option was to pay for new parts. So, I was charged for parts AND...

I got this book and would definitely recommend it. I've read it about 3-4 times and I find "new" information every time I read it as I get farther along in my business. Amazon.com: Start Your Own Automobile Detailing Business (Start Your Own . . .): Eileen Figure Sandlin: Books

    Am I applying Poly-Seal wrong??

As sal said, the pad shouldn't effect the sealant capabilities. I would at least step up to a green or white pad to give yourself a little bit of mechanical correction. I've not had any problems with lack of gloss when using PS on a green LC pad or yellow Meg's pad.

What do you Use to Dry?

Yep, those Meg's towels are awful for any kind of drying...even their waffle weave is pathetic.

    Am I applying Poly-Seal wrong??

First thing I would suggest is moving up to a white, green, or even orange pad. Next, prime your pad with 5 pea-sized dots of PS. Work over a small area on speed 5. Even though it disappears into the paint right away, keep working it like you would a normal polish. As long as your pad is...

Washing all my MF Towels at once?

I do 3 separate loads. 1 - paint (drying towels, buffing towels, etc.) 2 - extra dirty areas (jambs, tires, wheels, wells, engine, etc.) 3 - interior (all interior towels) All towels get washed and dried separately as to not contaminate my best towels.

    Nxt and NXt 2.0...Streaking...Reccomendations

Easy fix: Toss both NXT and NXT 2.0 in the trash! I've used both and streaking was an issue with me as well. I don't have that problem with other boutique waxes.

    DP All Exterior Cleaner

Yes, you should be able to use it on painted wheels. If you want to be on the safe side, dilute it 1:1 with water. DP All Exterior Cleaner is a very nice product. I've used about 3-4 gallons. However, it's just a little high-priced for being an APC, which is why I don't use it anymore.

    Rinseless Washes, Which one?

You get more for your money with ONR because of the recommended dilution ratios. Compare, and you'll see. Plus, the ONR gallon is $5 cheaper to begin with. ONR has a proven track record. I like DP products in general, but ONR is a no-brainer.

    UDM broke on me again!!!

^^^ Good luck! I never used mine on speed 6 and it still broke on me! 5 on the PC or UDM is as high as I ever go.

    UDM broke on me again!!!

I had the exact same problem with mine about a month ago (metal post fell out of the center). Unfortunately, I was outside of the warranty period by about 3 months. I tossed it in the trash and went back to my PC for doing 1-steps or waxing. I've still got a Flex and a couple rotaries for...

    Optimum X

I have a sample and just from a quick test with the product, it's not for the hobbiest that wants something quick and easy like Opti-Seal or OCW. If you don't work it into the paint, it will streak and the only way to remove it is to polish it off (washing, claying, etc. won't remove it). It...
