86 Vette Black....from trashed to treasure! Major transformation

As I scrolled down through the pictures I thought wow that paint looks like hell. Getting closer to the afters I expected to see it looking very nice. What I got instead was nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely amazing.

    Buy in Bulk

I used to buy everything I could in 5 gallon pails years ago. I don't like 5 gallon containers though and switched to just getting stuff in gallons or gallon cases. I buy a cheap tire dressing still in 5 gallons that I use just for wheel wells. Everything else is in gallons or smaller...

2 bucket method, What is it?

I always wondered why the second bucket is just rinse water. Why not just two buckets of soap or two buckets of ONR. I think the idea of getting the dirt out of the mitt is good but don't like the continual dilution of the wash water. Expensive would be one reason. I suppose some wring the...

    I Give Up

Sounds like fillers to me too. My experience from washing recently detailed vehicles are that there are more people buffing that don't know what they are doing then there are that do.

Got The New Tv And Setup In The Appt!!!

Very nice. We were going to get a 42" Plasma or LCD to replace a broken 48" HDTV. I wanted the thin screen but ended up getting a 52" Panasonic LCD projection with a stand for $995 so had to take that.

Had to wipe out all my computer stuff (pissed)

Not sure if you are trying to put a desktop on your existing home network. Your router address will be something like http://192.168.1.1/ In there you can access you settings. On our computers that hook in through the network cables it generally detects everything. On those with wireless...

    DG Paste Wax

I used 104 once or twice and thought it worked pretty good. I didn't like that it was a creme. I like stuff in a jar to be more solid. Creme in a can feels out of place in my collection lol

    Not a good week!!!!!

Reddwarf I am very sorry to hear about the loaned PC not being returned. If all that I've read is true and I believe it is then it's pathetic. In times of crisis people many people seem to be so honest and sincere, once the crisis is past they show their true colors. Circumstances don't make...

    Worst/Most Ignorant Detailing Mistakes

Plastic rain guard on a Prelude Sunroof. Got into a habit of pushing gently on it to lift the front which would release the water when washing. Winter time, cold and old plastic with this technique = crached $135 rain guard.

    Twisted Ankle

I feel your pain and wish a speedy recovery and am thankful it isn't something that will last too long. How many of us have made mistake coming off our ladders lol. I stepped off my ladder into my wash bucket one time and went down.

    Nintendo Wii

We pre ordered it and got it on day one. My wife and I played it a few times. The kids play it some but it doesn't get the play that the DS gets. I'm glad I got it at retail price. If I had paid a premium for it early on I'd be kicking myself now.

The things that bother me about paste wax

I'm a huge fan of paste waxes and am always adding new ones to my collection. I just apply them by hand and if I am going to use the PC if just use a 4" pad. The 4" pad will fit in the larger cans. On the smaller cans I just rub a little on the pad with my fingers or just remove the pad from...

    Wheel Brushes

8" Montana Boars hair brush. I picked one up at the end of last year and it's cleaned close to 1000 sets of wheels. I use it mainly with ONR but it's been used with APC's, degreasers and acid. Works just as good as the day I got it so I expect years of commercial use out of it. I use a few...

Tex Star Detail Saves The Day!

Looks good. Judging by your before which are the other guys after that vehicle must have been trashed. As for the other "detailer", when someone lacks the equipment, knowledge and skill they should at least know their limitations.

Wash, Vac, and Spray Wax - 02 Chevy Suburban - EHUTH1

Rinse aids are very common in car washes. I used some from Cul-Mac years ago to aid in drying in mobile business. Stoners makes rinse aids as does just about every company that supplies car washes. Automagic has one too if I remember correctly. Most are highly concentrated and sold in 5...

    Best Waterless/'Little Water' Wash Product

I've used Spray and Wash before and found it works fine. Cost wise it's not as economical as rinseless washes. I've used the three rinseless wash products that I am aware of (QEW, ONR, DP4N1). I'd use any to wash a car and wouldn't have a problem doing so. My pick though is ONR which is what...
