    Streaks

I own a Black Buick regal with very very soft paint. Anyhow I have a coat of Menzerna power lock topped with collinite 845. It seems like every time I use any kind of product on top it just streaks all over. After I wash, if I use Megs Ultimate Quick Detailer, it streaks. Just started using...

I think I've got a plan... Adjustments? Technique?

The mazda 6 isn't going to be too bad. I did this one a little bit ago. I use Menzerna polishes though. I used power lock topped with 845. Even just the 845 will look really nice. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/37476-2003-mazda-6-a.html

    The "Stupidly Self-Inflicted Injury" thread.

My normal job is working on commercial garage doors. Well one night I was at a job for wayyyy to long. Seemed like everything went wrong. On top of that the business was about to close. I had to cut a shaft key (1/4"x3"). I held onto it with a vice grip so I wouldn't cut my fingers and I used a...

how to prevent battery drainage during long details?...

I've had the same experience as you. Now when I am doing the interior I usually start the car up and let it run for a few minutes once in a while Here is the thread I made recently. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/38909-dead-battery.html

Here's my first order what do you think?

I use a big shop vac. So when I do mobile detailing I have to make sure the customer has a power outlet at their house. Either that or you will have to pony up for a generator. As far as the cigarette lighter vaccums go, I don't really know of any with any decent sucking power.

Here's my first order what do you think?

You got some pretty good stuff. My favorites that I use often is the Menzerna Power lock, Ultima trim and tire guard, Ultimate quick detailer and optimum no rinse. The others I have not used, but heard they work well.

Detailing a car with clearcoat failure

Ya she's not expecting a miracle or anything. I already told her ther is nothing I can do about the clearcoat and that it needs a repaint. I just did her Minivan today and she was extremely impressed. She's referred me to 6 other customers before so whatever I can do. I just don't know if I...

Detailing a car with clearcoat failure

Well they bought the car a few years ago and got a great deal on it because of the bad paint. The car only has 40,000 miles on it and runs like new. They know they need a repaint and were asking me if I knew anyone who paints cars. I only charge $75 for what I do, but don't know if I should take...

Detailing a car with clearcoat failure

Does anyone have any tips? I have never done one and don't want to make it worse or ruin any of my supplies. I normally do a wash, clay and wax for the exterior. Will my clay get gummed up? How about my towels, applicators and pads? What should I use on the wheels? All the clearcoat is coming...

got a deal on a CHEAP brush at autozone

I picked one up a few months ago... In the clearance bin for the same price. It works ok, it does last. My only complaint is that the bristles are so soft that you end up spraying wheel cleaner and dirt all over yourself when you brush the wheels.

saved my car from being destroyed

Reminds me of an incident that I had. I pull up to a fast food restaurant with tons of empty spots all around. Well the spaces are on an angle so I pull in the last spot next to the curb. Some guy must have been going the wrong way and pulled in and his back end was literally behind my car. Now...

Ok so never had to deal with this, kid with bic ink pen drew on leather of Tahoe....

I don't think anyone uses this, but i've used krud kutter on leather before. I had a customer that had everything under the sun on their leather. Paint from paintballing, pen, marker etc... I tried leather cleaners and then tried APC+ in a test spot and it pulled color out. So my last resort was...

I'm thinking that the particles from the eraser are filling the scratches and marring the heck out of the paint. Try it on a black car
