Probably some silly detailing questions but...

This is not the first time I've heard this espoused on the forum by a respectable member. However, I have a hard time believing that it will improve the lubricity of the already fantastic lubricity of car wash soap. Softening I can see. But more lubricity???

    SEMA 2017 - Was a blast

Very cool! I have two places I need to go in the next 5 years - either by myself or with my son. Autogeek. SEMA.

Will a ceramic coating hold up to Midwest winter?

Agree, but this hasn't been my experience early in the process. But, yes, coating or not, leaving the car with dust/grime out in the sun after getting wet is a recipe for water spots. Some come off with washing. Some come off with water spot removers -- but then the hydrophobic properties of the...

Will a ceramic coating hold up to Midwest winter?

I agree with this statement, and I've suspected the coating is wearing thin at this point simply because of the time relationship. I've had Gyeon Mohs on my car since 2016, so when the spring of 2018 comes around, a full detail, light correction and recoating will be in order.

Will a ceramic coating hold up to Midwest winter?

I've been using coatings on our cars since 2013, and I am convinced that they hold up better through the winter months than sealants or waxes. Obviously some sealants and waxes are better than others, but the coatings -- at least in my experience -- have made maintenance of the vehicles easier...

Is this a joke? BF Pro APC is $70/gallon?!?!?!

It is pricey, but like many things on AG, buying them is actually optional. Like many overpriced things on the market, price will ultimately be dictated by demand.

    Polish Angel

I haven't used any PA traditional coatings, so I can't comment about those. I have, however, used Viking Spritz, High Gloss and Supersport. I think the advantage of these products is their ease of application, and truly a little goes a long way when you spray them on your MF or directly on the...

    Please Recommend a Coating

Agree with Roger here. ECH2O is really a nice rinseless wash, and it leaves a bit of SiO2 protection as well. For the OP, I agree that McKee's coating will probably be a very easy first coating. I've never used it, but I've used Pinnacle Black Label, and it is more or less the same type of...

    Loss of clarity with coating?

Yeah, I'm having trouble figuring out the issue from your photos, and I agree that the lighting and white balance are different, as is the angle. Digital cameras do not replicate this well enough unless the lighting conditions are well-controlled and in a black room. Either way, I have used PBL...

    Gyeon Mohs problem

I see this thread now. I typically waited less time between application and wiping. In my experience, that was around 30-45 seconds. Also, I would have waited longer to apply the second layer. To answer the question of whether a second layer is needed, I don't think one is needed.

    Gyeon Mohs really sucks (photo)

I can't imagine applying the product in Florida either. Too hot for me. However, I have applied Mohs when it has been very humid and relatively hot ( 90s). The other thing I forgot to mention was that after applying and doing your buffing, you really need to look at the surface from multiple...

No luck either polishing glass with regular pads and compounds. I basically use the firmest pad I have and the most aggressive compound (Menz FG400) just to get off the film and bonded material so I can create a nice substrate for applying coatings to the glass. I have used Ceriglass and glass...

    Gyeon Mohs really sucks (photo)

I don't think it is incompatibility with Essence - at least it wasn't in my experience. This is most likely from incorrect application of Mohs with temperature/humidity being a factor I bet. I found that Mohs has been fairly easy to apply across the board, but one has to pay attention to the...

How long Csl & Exo took me

9 hours sounds about right, but it also matters how much correction you needed to do. But, I'd say that's pretty much what I would be looking at for a 1 step.

    Gyeon Coating Questions

I can't comment on Prime, but Mohs is very good for scratch resistance; I've been very pleased.
