Am I on the right road?

You will be using a lubricant for the clay, likely a quick detailing spray, or even the soap water used to wash the car. I see it more as a time saver.

Am I on the right road?

Hello Kevzaz - Welcome to the forum. Something I've been reading on the forum lately is some clay their car before drying. I haven't done this yet, but will next time my car needs to be clayed. I suppose it would be personal preference if you wanted to wash the car again after clay. One of...

    Vinegar in with wash soap??

So you rinse your car with distilled water? The lawn sprayer you mention, is it the type one would dispense pesticides? Aside from ONR, is there something that may be mixed with rinse water that would prevent water spots? If someone were to rinse with a foam gun, is there a chemical that...

    1980 MGB Lots of Pictures

:whs: I spent a good part of a weekend working on my wife's minivan, and got a "it looks nice". Two days later, it was back to its normal status. My friends keep mentioning "I thought you enjoy detailing cars." I hate that van! It's like giving my dog a bath. He looks great until I let him...

So what is the pad of choice for the Flex?

That would be a correct statement (IMHO). The only reason I haven't moved toward the Edge System is because of the permanent modification to the backing plate. Once they offer a separate plate (with no mods to the existing plate), I'll probably make the move myself.

So what is the pad of choice for the Flex?

I've been able to use the 6.5" pads with minimal issues. The trick is getting the pad centered. After a little trial and error before polishing, the combo works fairly well for me. If I don't get the pad centered, it will jump around. I also have been able to use the 5.5" pads, but certainly...

    2001 Camaro SS w/ Fuzion + mini shoot w/ Z06

That is magnificent work! I don't know what favor he did for you to owe him a detail, but for those results, it probably involved a kidney. :D

    Wash again after claying?

Typically, I polish after I clay. I use Megs QD as a lubricant, and am not quite sure if the QD would have any impact on the polishing process. Since I can wash the car in about 15 minutes, I figure an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Since I'm not a professional, and I only clay...

In what order do you clean the interior?

I clean the carpet first because it's the easiest. When drying the car, I open both my doors (passenger and driver), and use my leaf blower. I know, I know that it's kind of redneck. I wash my car every week, and it's not like I'm blowing beer cans into my driveway. It's primarily just dust...

    Detailed 03 Black impala

From what I gathered, it was because the orange pad may cause hazing and/or micro marring. After using the orange pad, I had tiny webs that were only visible at the right (not 90 degree) angle. I'm not sure about TSR. It may be formulated differently so that you can go to LSP from an orange...

    Detailed 03 Black impala

The results look great! FYI - Not that I can tell on the imp (it really does look good), but you would probably get better results if you follow the orange pad with a white pad. I had done the same thing (but with 106ff), and some forum members pointed me in the right direction. 8 hours...

    What up

Smokin - I too am very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure it wouldn't have been any easier if she were older, but 45 is just too young! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

new car - clay or klasse one step?

I wash again after clay due to the lubricant. It very well may not change the end product, but why chance it when washing the second time only takes about 20 minutes.
