Well yesterday was the first time i ever detailed a black car and it made my mind up that i will never buy a black car EVER!
Short review for Wolfgang Duo 3.0:
I finally was able to use the Wolfgang TSR and FG 3.0.It was deffinetly more aggresive then pinnacles swirl remover and polish. It barely dusted as well. Only complaint i have is its really hard to wipe off after i made 5-8 passes after it broke down.I spent most of the day experimenting on how much product to use and ever time it was hard to wipe off after the polish broke down. But i would deffinetly recommend this product to the average joe.It wasnt hard to figure out and with some patients you can easily do alot of correction.I started to see results after i did the first wipe off after 5-8 passes.
I primed the pad with 3 lines like the directions said. After that i would use a nickle size amount or 3 pea size dots.I tried to wipe the pad off as much as possible to prevent the pad from cakeing up.After applying the product to the pad I started by wipeing the pad over the area i was going to work on.i then set my PC to 3 and worked the polish in.From there i set the PC to 5 and slowly moved it up and down and side to side for roughly 5-8 passes. After that id wipe down and inspect with my halogen lights. Some pannels needed more attention then others but i always saw improvement after i wiped the product off.
Black Impala Detail:
So i will start by saying my mom has owned this car since new and its a daily driver.I wish i would have taken before pictures because the outside was trashed.not her fault because i used to wax it on a regular basis but its hard for me to keep up with all 6 cars at the house.Iv always heard how much of a pita black is but never understood till i did this car.It took a total of almost 8 hours for the exterior alone.I started with a full wash down with meguiars gold class soap. Then i clayed the car.I had 2 do this in the sun so i re washed the car and brought it in the garage to dry and 2 continue my preperation.I started with KAIO by hand to remove the old wax.Wow wat a huge difference. It took all the cloudiness away and made the paint deeper. Then i started with Wolfgang 3.0 TSR with a orange pad.after 5-8 passes id wipe off the remaining and inspect the paint.I saw progress after ever wipe down. After about 6 hour my back and legs started to cramp up so i just used the finishing glaze in spots that were cloudy and had halograms.after that i topped everything with collinite 845.I applied meg#40 to all the trim and door moldings around the car.I also applied KAIO to the headlights and tailights. The wheels were cleaned with P21S gel wheel cleaner and a Mothers wheel brush. They were then protected with DG AW.The tires were dressed with Meg hot shine. So let me know what you think.

30 views and no response??does it look bad???

It looks pretty good for a daily driver to me!!!! I own a black 06 Rav4 so I know where you are coming from. I have owned a UDM since the car was just a year old and it still boggles my mind how many swirls and scratches you can see in a vehicle that is kept really clean and polished whenever the weather allows. Black is the worst to correct but the kicker is it looks great when it done. At least for awhile anyways.

Pat.

looks good. seriously though if you are cramping you are dehydrated drink water while working and maybe some gatorade after all it is heat stroke season.

:iagree: I learned this the hard way, seemed like a hangover from hell for several days and horrible cramps. I make it a point to drink plenty of water when in the heat and to drink even when you are not thirsty.

The results look great!
Then i started with Wolfgang 3.0 TSR with a orange pad.after 5-8 passes id wipe off the remaining and inspect the paint.
FYI - Not that I can tell on the imp (it really does look good), but you would probably get better results if you follow the orange pad with a white pad. I had done the same thing (but with 106ff), and some forum members pointed me in the right direction.

8 hours working on your mom's car in the summer heat. You're a good son :).

well shes paying me enough to cover my materials.so ur saying use a orange pad with TSR then do it again useing a white pad??y is that?

From what I gathered, it was because the orange pad may cause hazing and/or micro marring. After using the orange pad, I had tiny webs that were only visible at the right (not 90 degree) angle.

I'm not sure about TSR. It may be formulated differently so that you can go to LSP from an orange pad.

Looks awesome. Did you order the 845 or pick it up locally? I have been looking for it and only found it once in a store.

i got it at a store my girlfriend works at.gotta love employee discount.how ever i will say this, make sure ur paint is in the condition you want because 845 doesnt have the same look as wax but it does give off a nice shine though.also let it sit for a few minutes after doing the car and just swipe panels to see if it comes off easily.if u apply a thin layer its very easy 2 remove.im curious to see how long it lasts on a car that sits outside all the time.its supposed to be very durable.
