    Road trip!!

I'm a little biased against waterless washes, just from personal experience. I much prefer taking a bottle of ONR, a 2 gallon bucket, and plenty of MFs. If I need to wash, I just go to the grocery store and buy 2 gallons of distilled water, and use that to make up my ONR. I also never leave home...

Is there a real difference in MF cleaners

I just use the same home made laundry detergent I use on my clothes(Washing Soda, laundry soap, and borax). Works every bit as well as these expensive cleaners, IMO, and only costs $0.03 a load.

    Home-made Laundry Detergent for Microfibers?

Don't worry, you don't have to be Dr. G to make laundry detergent! :xyxthumbs: Ingredients: 1 Bar Laundry Soap(Fels Naptha and Kote are 2 popular brands. I personally use Fels Naptha) 1 Cup Borax 1 Cup Washing Soda(Different from Baking Soda, still made by Arm and Hammer though) Process: 1...

    Home-made Laundry Detergent for Microfibers?

Does/has anyone else here used home made laundry detergent for their microfibers? I've used it for a few years on all my regular laundry(thrifty college student living). Not long ago, after running out of Microfiber detergent, I decided to give it a try on my towels. Came out JUST as clean...

    Handling the accidental lowball quote?

Sounds to me like you would've been totally happy accepting the $250-$300 you quoted, correct? For me, as long as I'm getting my desired hourly rate, it doesn't bother me knowing that the client might have been willing to pay more. I get the money I wanted, and the client walks away feeling like...

1991 Ford Expedition, Painter's Truck, Interior Detail

Thanks for the kind words guys! @ZMC: The job ended up taking around 5 hours start to finish. I usually try and make $30/hr, so I took a little bit of a hit here. I was okay with it though, since the client and I are friends. All in all, I made a profit, and made the customer happy! And to...

1991 Ford Expedition, Painter's Truck, Interior Detail

I actually just use a Bissell ProHeat 2, the full size stand up one. The embedded paint took a little extra beyond just the machine, though.

1991 Ford Expedition, Painter's Truck, Interior Detail

This client recently bought a used 1991 Ford Expedition from a friend, who had used the vehicle since 2005 as a work truck for his home painting business. This vehicle has clearly been through some very serious neglect, although I suppose as a work truck, though, that isn't terribly surprising...

    Critique my Business Card Design

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it! I've made some revisions, and have come up with 2 different potential designs. Both have eliminated the unattractive surroundings from around the car, and changed the text(besides company name) to a more standard font. The only difference...

    Foot Wear

I swear by Thorogood boots. They make low rise styles in both steel and composite toe(my preference is composite), and they are hands down the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. Ive worked a 20 hour day in them before, and my feet were just starting to get sore at the end. They've...

Finally made the plunge from lurker to member! I've been doing basic detailing (read "No paint correction") for a year or so on friends and family cars, and it's slowly reached a point where I've decided I might as well add paint correction and start my own part time business to make some money...
