    Need some advice RV detailing

I can't see a lot of detail in your pics so some things are hard to tell if they are shiny or dull. The main thing is that are you happy with the results you're getting? 'What do I do if That area failed? Will it come back with buffing or do I have to have it recoated?" I personally would not...

    Need some advice RV detailing

Yeah, I meant the area surrounding the shiny patch, is where the coating failed. The shiny patch is where it is still intact. I read on the IG site where the pink is supposed to remove the Elixir & the Sea Glow. Is that shiny patch clean? If not try the pink on it. The problem I have with a lot...

    Meguiars Ultmate Liquid Wax streaking

So I should wipe down after the polish & before the sealant? Will the 50/50 IPA solution dull the polish job?

    Meguiars Ultmate Liquid Wax streaking

Anybody else have this problem? I called Meguiars & they said to WoWo this product but it still streaks They said because I used #7 to prep with, there is a lot of oils in #7 & quite a bit in UW, that I may have this problem. Boy no kidding! I applied by hand with the included foam...

"What do you think about that patch (square) next to the rear window, keep in mind I haven't done any of that area." I'm no paint expert but it looks like a coating failure. I see this same appearance in waxed (coated) floors. You said when you bought the RV they applied Island Girl to the...

    Please Recommend a polish

Those are some good suggestions. I like the Durogloss because I've used it on my RV. Never thought about it on my car. I would not have to keep too many products on hand. I watched the video on the Optimum Hyper Polish & that has me interested as well. One product, many uses, no film residue...

"Don't mean to sound lazy but it is a 35' RV." Believe me I completely understand. I have a 34' 5ver & it completely wears me out over several days. I'm in for anything that is quicker & easier that works & lasts. Those graphics look pretty good. One looks a little faded on the end. That can...

    Need some advice RV detailing

Sorry I thought you were talking about cleaning the entire roof with mineral spirits. I've done just as you described when resealing around seems & vents. I'm going to put some EternaBond tape on all my roof seams this fall. Just waiting for it to cool down a bit before spending the whole day...

Dicor & other rubber roof mfg.'s say to only clean it. Any type of dressing is discouraged. They seem to hold dirt in them from my experience. You can clean then them with almost any good degreaser like purple power, simple green, etc. I've found these to work much better than the "rubber roof...

    Detail Approach for RV

The graphics on your RV are Vinyl. How do you treat vinyl or plastic trim on your auto? Do you run your machine across it? Most cleaner waxes have PD's & waxes. Both dry out the vinyl & cause cracking & lifting. Use an APC on the graphics or your regular RV wash to clean them. A good...

Yes to the decals. Waxing or polishing dries them out & they begin to crack & peel. 303 makes them supple & adds UV protection. Sorry I have not tried the on the fly technique so I can't comment. PITA = Pain in the azz

I've never tried 409 on the decals but it probably would work OK. Give it a try & see if it takes the streaks & gunk off. whatever you are washing the MH with will probably work even if you have to use it at a stronger dilution. Not sure about soaking pads too long. I clean mine & lay them out...

Those Filon sides look good. Your process seems to be working good there.

303 is great for the decals. The roof cleaner can leave white streaks on the decals & the polish can leave a dark residue on them as well. Clean with a soft cloth & a good all purpose cleaner. Rinse the all purpose cleaner & then apply the 303. I always do the decals last because it is easy to...

How do you treat this trim piece?

The reason your old metal GM radiator didn't leak was because it used standard antifreeze. The new GM cars use DEXcool. Dexcool =junk & alot of problems. Dexcool eats up metal radiators, gaskets & alot of other stuff. That's why I put a plastic radiator & the new "anymake or model" antifreeze...

Hi Red I'm new here & not an experienced detailer. However I've owned & maintained RV's for 25 years. 1st- Is the siding on your MH gelcoat or Filon? Are the graphics painted on, or are they Vinyl decals? If they are vinyl do not run your machine over them or use any kind of polish or wax on...
