    My Poor car

Sunday night I decided to park outside of my gate that leads to my driveway. I do this all the time and no problems. Well, Monday around 6am, some guy going to work, fell asleep and hit my car. This car has taken a beating!

What was your first detailing mistake/error?

First attempt to get a bad scratch out. (go big or go home) Started with a rotary, wool pad and some heavy duty compound. Didnt like the results, went straight for the wet sand with 2000 grit. Scratch was gone, was happy, now its time to get out the wet sanding marks. End result, not enough...

Detailing small areas by hand ????'s

I took a 5.5 inch pad and put it in my hand and went to town on my car. It worked well, you can apply a lot of pressure if needed. Be prepared to be warn out.

    Fast Acting Bird Poo?

Other than an automatic car wash and an idiot with a brillo pad, bird crap is the worst for your paint. I carry around PB Bird sh#t remover, its awesome!

Ive never used there hand applcators, but i did take a 5.5 inch white pad and cuffed it in my hand. I used 205 and a lot of elbo grease and got really good results.

I'm baffled - still have swirls after hours of work

Are those scratches or marring? If those are scratches, you might need something more aggressive, like a yellow pad, or a microfiber cutting pad. If you can get your finger nail n the scratches, theres not much you can do.

New SS (2% increase) tax in effect

Unfortunatly this increase is from the bush era tax cut. It was only supposed to be temporary, then obama extended it for another couple of years. Statstics say those tax cuts are responsible for half of the national debt. I hate making less money also. I need to wash my car! (Detailing related) LOL

Dashboard help, residue removed now no shine

See if you can get a color matched die from an interior place. That scotch brite pad faded your dash. If you are gonna try and paint that spot, try and feather the paint out to help blend it nto the dash. What ever you do, do not remove that dash!!
