    What do you think about while Detailing..

    personally I'm like a dog.... I always remember the cartoon of a dog sleeping with the thought bubble above his head that has a picture of him sleeping. So...I think of a dog that dreams about sleeping while he's sleeping. If I can keep it that simple, should be ok.

    old Mustard colored car that Mike worked over

    The car next door just sits there so I can drop by anytime. We got some pretty good weather for about 2 months so should be ok. Same year as I recall, baby-blue'ish paint. I could park my car on the hood. Gonna be fun to use one of Mike's processes that I wouldn't normally see. Hopefully I can...

    old Mustard colored car that Mike worked over

    There was an article I was reading where Mike had massaged a product into the paint a few times over many hours to re-condition before he polished. Maybe an old Continental, some early 70's monster (wish I had one) and it was a mustard colored yellow or brownish-gold. Very period color, big...

    Actually 1-3:1 is probly more like it. Maybe hole it sprays thru is smaller diameter for solvents and such. Same cheap can-sprayer with bit larger orifice mite do ok.

    using a siphon w/compressor?

    Recently I read somewhere that a guy used a siphon gun ($10 part) with some OPC to help clean at the beginning of an engine detail. Anyone done this? Pressure used at compressor? Amount of product used (with any APC I'd guess)? Results? I'm very curious and thanking you ahead of time.

    saving a post for later reference..??

    I normally keep a word doc on my desktop at the ready so that if I read a statement or procedure from an experience that is important to know, I copy/paste it to the doc. A little wordsmith'ing here and there is very important to remember. But say there is a long post with pics that is...

    soft water?....distilled water?

    I like the distilled water concept whilst diluting and using directly on the paint/etc where it can be regulated. Might just have to install a $300 water softener in the basement. Should be able to direct it to where it should go. Yeah....elevator mechanic...plumber...same thing. Appreciate all...

    can't believe she allowed this erection!

    We have a 1940 house that's relatively complete to the vintage. We try to keep it that way. She's pretty nuts about it. Well she let me put this erection in where it doesn't belong. Temporarily of course. Wait a minute.... what were you thinking?

    soft water?....distilled water?

    Anybody using a portable "on demand" soft water device? Anyone see any advantage using distilled water when diluting products such as APC's, PERL, etc? tks!
