First time doing a beat car....turned out ok I guess...

Great job! It looks tons better than before! For the trim, I would recommend Carpro PERL. I've had really great results with it, you can use it on pretty much all the plastic/rubber trim (including tires), and it lasts a long time. It's become my go-to product since the first time I've used it.

A Few Questions Before Making Another Purchase

I believe that will be enough. I don't see you needing much more than that. If you are, it's either very large, or you're using way too much product, but you should be alright. :xyxthumbs:

    Just thought out something

The Mustang I used it on was heavily contaminated: rail dust, grime, bits of tar on one complete side, etc. I never thought I'd see a black car turn so purple

    Just thought out something

This is very true. I used TRIX for the first time on my GF's Mustang. I told her that she might not want to be in the area when I sprayed it. I had a hard time trying to describe to her what it was going to smell like (I told her sulfur mixed with death), until she came near the car and said: "a...

Favorite Spray Wax .... How, Why, Uses ??

Blackfire Midnight Sun spray wax here, used after a wash on a vehicle that already has the BFWD/MS combo applied. It goes on easy, smells beyond amazing, and leaves a nice 'nuba glow. If I had previously used only BFWD as a stand alone LSP, than the vote goes to BF Polymer Spray to keep the...

A Few Questions Before Making Another Purchase

You're on the right track! The Griot's is a very capable DA, I'm ordering one this weekend myself, and your pad choice is a good one as well. You're right about needing to do a test spot on your car to determine the right combination of pad vs product, it's the only way to truly tell. You can...

Some before photos of my current nightmare

You have your hands full with this one, but I'm sure it will come out looking as good as it ever can short of a respray! I find that with the C3 Corvettes, you really have no middle road when it comes to overall condition- it's either an extremely well-kept garage queen, or it's trashed. I've...

    Throwing in the towel...

Awesome to hear! Sometimes all you need is a break from it, and you'd be surprised at how much you look forward to detailing something again- it's almost an addiction . I've had times myself where I was tired of fighting with horrible paint and finicky products (especially 3M swirl...

    Menzerna v Meguiars

This X2. If you detail a lot of different cars, you're eventually going to run into one where your favorite go-to product isn't getting you the results you want (ask me how I know ). My advice is to find a way to try both lines- be it samples, or if a local friend/acquaintance has...

What product best impressed you that you decided to try just because recommended in this forum?

ONR. Close second is Carpro PERL. I would have never tried these two if it wasn't for the reviews from others on AG, and I'm blown away by them. Both are very versatile products, tons of uses depending on dilution.

    Throwing in the towel...

Good to hear you're doing a bit better. Sometimes when you're completely frustrated and burnt out, the hardest thing to do is to take advice from others and to give yourself a break, so good job on being willing to take a step back and reassess, that's the first step and often the biggest hurdle...

    Glaze

CG Blacklight is one of the more popular ones. I don't really see it as a sealant like most would say, as the shine fades in a few days if there's no LSP over it, so it does fall in the glaze catagory. I would give it a try, I've had good results with it. Another one I'd recommend is the...

    This ever happen to you?

It's happened to me quite a few times, 3 out of my 4 cars are black, and you see every little defect. This thread sort of reminds me of the In and Out section I saw in Car Craft magazine a few years ago: In- Getting a second scratch on your paint, and realizing that it's just a car and you...

What sneakers do you wear ?

Either my Milwaukee boots, or a comfortable pair of DCs. I used to wear Vans about 10 years ago, but the quality of them went downhill like most on here say.
