Brand new seat leather - What product would you use to protect it?

Oh I have read everything from Judy and Roger. They both gave me a headache. I found 6 year old posts from Judy even in me recent research. But back to the thread topic, assuming you have leather seats, what do you apply, if anything, to protect (not condition, not restore, not clean, but...

Brand new seat leather - What product would you use to protect it?

I certainly appreciate any input. And thanks for taking the time to respond. At least for me though, I feel it is helpful to know what various people are putting on coated leather as a form of protection. In my original post, that is the kind of leather I was referencing - Coated leather...

Brand new seat leather - What product would you use to protect it?

Are you familiar with various different coatings used on coated leather? From my personal experience, I know for certain there are differences, but I cannot find any good information on what they are or how to treat specific types of automotive leather coatings. I really wasn't looking for...

    Please help me. Coatings

Really depends on whether you want to reapply sooner rather than much later. A lot of people here like trying different/new things too often to put something on the car like opti-coat.

You would use Mothers VLR on new seats for protection?

Brand new seat leather - What product would you use to protect it?

Of the Leather Masters, what would you use? The Protection Cream or the Leather Barrier? I cannot see that Leather Masters products have UV protection. Is UV not something you would be concerned with? Of the LTT, would you use the Leatherguard Protector or the Ultra Protect?

Brand new seat leather - What product would you use to protect it?

If you purchased a new car, took the manufacturers protective fabric off the seats yourself, knew you had some type of coated leather, and you wanted to give it the best shot of survival from drying/cracking/creasing/fading for the next 10 years, what product would you put on it that first day...

Review: Ultima Interior Guard Plus (UIGP)

I cannot find anything online besides this review that states this has UV protection. I don't even believe the back label makes the claim. Can anyone confirm before I place an order? I want to start using this on a new car. I am hopeful this product will prevent later hardening/cracking...

    Incredibly Cheap Finds

They are permanent markdowns. They will be marked down again assuming anything is left. They are in the automotive isle where it always resides and/or the endcaps of that isle. Of course various markets can mark down differently

    To gone for repair?

I believe a lot of what I am seeing is where bugs have etched the clear. Not much that can be done as far as I know. The spots down to the black polyurethane are rock chips and can be touched up.

    Streaks coming from window sill?

That weatherstripping will often have felt on the inner side. Be nice to your car or your client's car and treat it carefully. These tend to degrade with time and you certainly do not want to hit it with anything too harsh - Chemical or otherwise. If you are dealing with an older car, you...

    Overspray on paint

Yeap, clay bar will do it for sure. I just had to do a full car and assumed wool/rotary would be needed. Not only was it not needed, it just didn't work. Tried clay and boom.

Anybody have a tip to remove this residue from the paint?

It is very possible that what you are seeing is etched clear. I have seen stickers (with what I assume is a low pH adhesive) etch and actually raise the clear to the touch. Certainly give a product like goo-gone or WD-40 a chance. If you get no result at all, it is likely damaged clear.

Depending on the car, you may be able to remove that trim fairly easily. If not, as alluded above, one at a time buddy.

    Finish damage on polish aluminum

I would stop by a local body shop and ask. If they are good people, they can give you a local place that can do it if they can't. Polished aluminum generally has a clear coat on top to prevent tarnishing. I am guessing the dealer thought, "hey, it's aluminum, we can just buff that out."...

    Meguiar's #39 vinyl/rubber cleaner

Hey, I really appreciate that. Thanks for taking the time. Having never used it and since it's not available locally, no way for me to be sure since it is kind of weird.

Hard etching in audi clear, how to proceed

Honestly, that looks like it could be rat/mouse/animal urine that dried and ate the clear. I am guessing you can feel these. Either way, that isn't going away most likely.
