Thanks and yes, I am only polishing the paint on this brand new 14' Camry for a general clean up. I did the baggie test all over the car and it was smooth as can be! so I thought I'd skip the claying and go right into the polishing and sealing. I did get a layer of Klasse AIO on it the other...
Right on, thanks guys.
I suppose if the opti-coat 2.0 coating will be enough to protect the rims throughout the winter, then I'd just settle with that on the rims because new steel rims will cost more than the opti-coat..
Thanks for the comments. This 22PLE product looks good. Any reason you chose this over the opti-coat 2.0 that seems to be more widely used?
Also, the finish on that GTR in your post looks beautiful, great job on that. Did you coat it with 22PLE?
Need some advice here folks. I bought a brand new '14 Camry recently and it has some real nice 18" Alloy Rims that seem to be "clear-coated" from the factory. It came with 4 Michelin all seasons but I am looking for some deals on winter tires, and I am not sure if I should get steel rims to use...
Thanks for the great write-up Nick.
Following the advice of the experts here in my other thread, I had placed an order for the 845 wax, Klasse AIO, and a foam applicator pad.
I already bought a Mother's clay kit locally. So I will be claying the brand new car this weekend, weather...
Another great post Mark, thank you very much! And yes, the weather will be taking a turn for the worse soon enough. It's been nice and warm for the past week and even the next week or so, but I'm not counting on it....
Planning to prep this baby for the winter ASAP.
Now the colour on the...
Okay. Any particular polish you recommend? There's a bunch of different types of polishes available at my local distributor - mostly by the Chemical Guys brand..not sure which one to use.
Should I polish the paint after claying? The paint is already very shiny so I'm thinking about just skipping the polish and going straight to the sealant after claying....any advice?
Also, do I have to wash the car again after claying and before sealing? or is wiping away the clay lubricator...
Yes, great city but winters can be tough. Actually, it hasn't been that bad for the past few years. I remember 10 years ago the winters were brutal. Thanks global warming? Im the MAN
Anyways, thanks for the tips everyone. And Mark, thats a lot of great info! Learning a lot from you guys.
Is...
Okay great, thank you!
There's a ton to read so I'll be going over all of these threads. One more thing, is it okay to wash the car at the gas station, bring it home, completely dry it with the right cloth before applying the wax?
I'm asking this because I don't have any car shampoo, foaming...
Hey ZMC, definitely a great looking car. I test drove the new 2013 Accord, Mazda 6, and I liked the ride of the 2014 Camry over the other two. The design, features, and the sporty ride did it for me. And here are some pictures for ya!
Hey Evan, I am a little confused. Do you want me to use both Klasse AND Collinite wax in tandem? Wouldn't that be a bit overkill?
I just picked up the car today and the dealership told me it just arrived this morning, I saw a bunch of trucks still unloading other camrys' and the new 2014...
Hello everyone, new here and to auto detailing, but I have some questions about exterior care. I just bought my first brand new car (a 14' camry) and I just picked it up from the dealership this morning. I have a few questions on what I should do.
I want to protect the paint and shine of the...
Hey everyone, new to this site and looking forward to gaining a lot of knowledge in detailing cars! I never really took good care of my old cars but thats about to change since I just recently bought my first brand new car - 2014 Camry SE. It just looks very nice inside and out and I really want...
