Collinite #845: The Definitive How-To Guide For This Legendary Wax

The 12 hour time frame is between layers of SG to make sure they cure. This isn't the case since he's using the 845 as the LSP.

AIO is ready to go as soon as you buff it out.

Yeah this is true, too early to post this morning I guess. KAIO is ready to be layered right away and #845 is a fine choice, ofcoarse!

I'm sure this has been answered in this post already, but how long do you have to wait to layer 845?

Well I'm not Nate but 12 hrs is the general rule w/ Klasse products, even KAIO. I take it your polishing w/ KAIO was done on paint that didn't need much correction but rather a general clean-up?

Thanks and yes, I am only polishing the paint on this brand new 14' Camry for a general clean up. I did the baggie test all over the car and it was smooth as can be! so I thought I'd skip the claying and go right into the polishing and sealing. I did get a layer of Klasse AIO on it the other day, but unfortunately, the weather has been bad here lately with tons of rain! So I didn't get the chance to apply the 845. The forecast is finally clearing up and hopefully I can get a chance to apply the 845 then.

Do you think I should apply the Klasse AIO again or is that current layer going to be enough? My plan right now is to just wash it this weekend, dry it, and apply two coats of 845, and let it sit overnight in the garage.

^If I remember correctly, I think someone in this thread said you should wait a few hours before you apply a second coat of 845, just to ensure the first is completely dry. I am not 100% sure but if my memory serves me that was it. If anyone can confirm...:buffing:

In a weeks time I can't see needing to apply a 2nd coat of KAIO to the car before applying #845 but then again, since KAIO is so easy to use its not going to hurt anything either. As far as time inbetween coat of #845 goes, well let's keep in mind its a sealant, so 12 hrs is a good amount of time to wait inbetween coats.

How come if you use the klasse twin after you apply and buff AIO it you don't wait, you apply SG it right away.

But if you apply the #845 you gonna wait 12hrs after the AIO...

Just a question. ..

The AIO has little sealant compared to the SG. Layer SG and you have to wait.

:iagree:

I've always wondered why they call it an AIO since I've never found it to have any real protective qualities. It's really just a paint cleaner/surface prep product. Of course SG isn't a glaze since it doesn't contain any fillers and is simply a sealant.

With the naming of these products its a wonder anyone can tell what they do!

Does klasse aio falls to a category of a cleaner?

And even if doea have a bit of sealant, still its a cleaner..

And I think you cannot layer a cleaner, right? and does not requires curing time.

I read a lot of thread saying they performed a paint correction, they used a paint cleaner and right away they put a sealant.

I don't know if AIO is officially a cleaner, but it is far closer to a cleaner than a sealant as it offers little/no paint protection.

Correct, you cannot layer a cleaner, and there is no point. If you were to try and layer it, it will remove what ever is already there. AIO is no different.

You are correct in thinking you can put down AIO and then immediatly put 845 on top of it.

Maybe I missed this in the 28 pages of comments, but does 845 darken/cure/get glossier after 24 hours?

I hit my daughter's 1999 Blue Pear Subaru Outback with 845 this weekend. After I was done, my impression could be best described as, "meh". It didn't look any better than other products I've put on it. The next morning, I looked at the car and my reaction became, "holy cow!" The paint now looks deep, rich, warm, glossy and maybe even slightly darker (which is a good thing IMHO).

I'm hooked.

Maybe it was the lighting because I just applied a coat of #845 this past weekend and when I took it off I still was shaking my head at amazement! Infact, this happens when I apply #845, #915 and yes, even #476. Now some say #476 is all about durability and not shine, some even take it step further and say it dulls the shine and to that I say this, not in my case!

For the price its unmatched, especially for durability!

That is correct and on Ebay has it w/ a free applicator, mf towel and shipping for $17.95, just sayin so if your on the fence, come on over!

A lot has been said, I just tried collinite for the first time and I am impressed. I use 50/50 which I like also use jet seal 109, if it lasts as long as every one says this will be a home run.:buffing:

I'm about to run out of 645s. Are Collinite waxes still a good, competitive choice? I last clayed, cleaned with Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser, applied Crystal Seal, and applied 476s and was very pleased with the appearance and performance that exhibited, but wonder if I should stick with 476s or if it's a dated product.

Collinite #845 is well under $20.00, some Ebay ads have it with free applicator, mf towel and shipping, check it out. Infact, all Collinite is on Ebay, so if you want that and only that, its the cheaper way to go for sure!
