    Review: Ultima Waterless Wash Plus

Corey, I agree. I bought UWWP because of your review and because it's STILL in your "best of" list: Best Of - AUTO DETAILING AND CAR CARE PRODUCT SPECIALIST. If anyone is not sure of what products to buy, I strongly recommend that the start with your Best of list. I tried UWWP tonight on the...

Procedure for cleaning a new car???

Kiotie, First, welcome to the detailing fan club! Regarding your products and process, overall it's a decent start but with some exceptions... - While your car will be new, it may not be in perfect shape. If your wife's Explorer has just had washes and is even a few years old, it...

Zaino vs UPGP review - my plan...

Klasse, I haven't had enough free time and my back is giving me problems. I'm going to try to get the prep done this weekend. The only fly in the ointment is that I just ordered 3" and 4" pads and they won't be here until next week. I may try to complete just the hood and apply the LSPs...

    Griots 3" Polisher Orbit?

Gentlemen (Ladies), Thanks for the feedback. I have a PC, Flex 3401, and Festool RO150. I have lots of options. But I want something small and nimble. So I'm going to try the road less traveled... I have a Festool RO90. It's a great little sander with good power and a Rotex mode like it's...

    Griots 3" Polisher Orbit?

I want to to use smaller pads - like 3" pads. The Griots 3" polisher is the right size, but I've read that it's a bit weak. A lot of a polisher's power comes from the size of the orbit. I can't find any info on the Griots 3" polisher orbit. Anyone know the orbit on that polisher? Thanks...

    Review: CarPro PERL

Made a mistake buying PERL... I should have gotten the 1 liter size rather than than the 500ml size! :D I applied one coat to my DD 10 days ago and it still looks great. Nice and black with very little shine - just right. This coming weekend, I'll apply two more coats. Corey, thanks for the...

SpeedFreak Detailed: '12 Audi S5 new car prep

Brian, Very nice work. I'll be polishing out my 2011 A4 for the first time in the next week or so. Just curious... Did you tape off? How did you handle the lip on the trunk lid? Any other tips for polishing an A4? Thanks, Dan.

    Foaming doesn't make sense

I use a two bucket + foam cannon method. Foam on and then wash off with wool mitt. Easy and fast. Dan.

    Daytona Brush needs improvement

I have one of those brushes (for years) but no longer use it. Wheel Woolies and Swissvax Wheel Brushes are WAY better! They work extremely well and NO splatter. Dan.

HELP, where do I go from here?

I agree on the pads, but Menzerna SIP (IS-1500) should be considered too. Dan

New 5 inch pads for the 4" Backing Plate on Flex 3401

Atoy, AFAIK, there is no native (non-adaptor) 4" LC backing plate for the Flex 3401. I hope you prove me wrong. I'm want to buy one. I'm looking forward to your review. Regards, Dan.

New 5 inch pads for the 4" Backing Plate on Flex 3401

I specifically said Flex. NOT the LC adaptor. Here is the link to the Flex North America site: Welcome to Flex North America, Inc. - Your Heavy-Duty Power Tools Suplier. Find a 4" backing plate there. Now look at the fourth pic down in this promo thread...

New 5 inch pads for the 4" Backing Plate on Flex 3401

There is no Flex 4" backing plate. It's 4-3/8". The pictures above show the LC adaptor.

New 5 inch pads for the 4" Backing Plate on Flex 3401

Hmmm... They still have not made 4.5" pads. Those are 5" pads. My biggest concern is the $50 backing plate kit required to use them. And that kit uses adapters (not native backing plates) and comes with a 6" backing plate which is useless for my needs. If there was a native, 4" backing...
