    Heavy Duty handheld Vac

Does one exist ? I detail for $ and need something for the carpeted section of truck rigs as well as upholstery/carpet in vehicles. I have a Ridgid 6 hp shop vac that's really good, but not carrying that obviously. It can be corded/cordless but it has to be portable and nearly commercial grade...

Do you wash PFM or similar drying towels after only 1 use

The obvious answer is yes but if you're drying a just-washed car the thought does occur about washing less often..... but I really can't take a chance. Just wonder if anyone else does more than 1 "drying" before washing. Yes I use Rags to Riches detergent and only dry on low settings. Heat...

Finishing glaze - how large is working area each time ?

I'm compounding my black '11 Miata w Uber and Orange LC flat pads. I try to do no larger than a 1.5 X 1.5 ft. area w Uber. (Sometime even smaller). What size/how large are your passes for Finishing Glaze ? Actually I think this is my first time using it. I have a small, low-volume biz. I'll...

    Foam pad life expectancy

What is the average life expectancy of foam buffing pads. I have many LC and Hex Logic pads. I wash w APC, spin dry (w buffer) and let dry upside down always after each use. They don't seem to be losing effectiveness but I've had some of these pads for years... like 6-7. Thanks.

Before I say yes to full detail on this '93 Corvette........ cupla ?'s

My business is growing fairly quickly and I'm getting vehicles lined up. I take things one car at a time. Was asked if I could detail this car. I spoke to owner and told him what I can and can't do. Paint swirled out but doesn't look too bad. He has owned the car for a long time and has had...

    Help identifying what these are

Doing a customer’s medium blue Subaru Forrester this past weekend I noticed these spots that were mostly on the hood. They were dark brown and raised up slightly above the surface. They did not come off with a blue Nanoskin mitt nor did they come off with a LC 5 inch yellow pad with Meguiar’s...

    Detailing a White 2016 Corolla tomorrow - may try McKee's 360 - cupla ?'s

Car is DD and looks like it hasn't had a wax job in awhile, likely ever. Swirls actually less than expected. I'll go with a wash, clay, and AIO. In keeping with the basic principle of removing the least amount of clearcoat to get the job done, I'll likely start with LC flat white pad and see how...

New Pads for Griots 6 " polisher ?

Just bought this polisher for net $7 ! I already have 25-30 total LC flat and CG Hex logic pads. Will I see a significant "improvement" by purchasing Griot's own pads or the new LC thinpro pads, in your opinion ? I just stocked up on pads and would prefer to just use them but I know "thin is...

    HD Speed - usage

I searched a lot on here about AIO's and HD Speed specifically. Great help ! Just got a bottle recently from AG and have a few questions. I'm using a DA polisher (HF). The ease of use is definitely a + ! Correction was acceptable and gloss is good. Will see about protection but not...

    2011 Hyundai Elantra - Hard paint ?/correction

Good morning. Picked up a detail job last night @ A Zone. Employee's wife has an '11 Elantra. Searching here it looks like newer Hyundai paint is very hard in general. Assuming that holds true for the Elantra ? This is my 5th car with a DA. Regardless of the paint type I'll do a test spot...
