    Meguiars Ultimate Compound users

I think UC is also marketed as being a bit more friendly for use with the DA, whereas the 105 is better suited for use with a rotary. Personally, I have used both with the DA. To me, the 105 is better suited for tackling tough swirls or scratches, but it dusts fairly quickly and I tend to have...

Cobra Indigo vs. Bogo Cobra Arctic White

Not trying to defame AG here, I love most of the products (and have the credit card bills to prove it), but the Cobra towels are the achilles heel of the AG online store. The Cobra towels seem to be so hit and miss from one towel to the next, there are literally hundreds of forum posts here...

    after winter--light polish

I got my sample 12 oz. of 205 this week and used it on my top paint surfaces today. I used a white CCS pad and DA on setting 5. It did a great job removing the micro tick marks that I previously created using too much pad (meguiar's burgundy, later found out not recommended for the DA) while...

    Which MF towels?

To answer you question...maybe. I have some Supreme Shines that are excellent, but I have many more than lint like crazy, especially when used with a quick detailing spray. The bad ones must have been attacked by aliens because Meguiar's insists they are all the same, when clearly they are hit...

    Finish Kare 425

I'm on a mission for the perfect QD, so this thread has me interested. I've been using Meguiar's UQD and 135 but have had a lot of streaking the day after use and need to repeat. The "hydrophobic" aspect lured me in. I bought some Adam's QD and probably like it better. Maybe it just smells...

    microfiber spa towels...?

"spa" towels are what women use to wrap their hair in at "the spa". They are super absorbent microfiber like the ones the olympic swimmers use when they get out of the pool. I don't know what they do differently to them, but they feel "grabby" to me. Funny you mention the bamboo towels. I just...

    Wax removal/buffing with PC7424

I just saw a great technique on the Adam's Polish video. He just places a plush MF towel on the surface over the polish residue and uses the PC with the polishing pad over the towel to agitate the towel and pick up most of the residue. This saves the need for MF bonnets and takes some of the...

Cobra Gold Plush XL Microfiber Towel alternative?

I love the Guzzler. If you try to dry the whole car with just one, though, you will likely have to wring it out. Personally, I use an electric leaf blower to blow the big stuff off, then finish drying the car with just one towel. I bought the Guzzler combo. Use the larger one for the exterior...

    Is this polish induced marring?!?! *{

Great thread. This is very similar to what I see on the trunk lid of my "new" 2010 Camaro. I'm certain these ultra fine micro swirls are rotary induced, because they are PERFECT in simmetry. I'll have to send the dealership a thank you card. I have tried my DA with a Meguiar's burgundy pad...

    Linting MF Towels. Why????

Matt: Thanks for your comments. This discussion is great for tossing ideas about linting. I do have to disagree with your observations that "plusher" means MORE linting. I have not been able to make that correlation. For example, I have Meguiar's Ultimate Wipes (one of the thinnest, non-plush...

    Linting MF Towels. Why????

There IS something strange happening here with microfiber. I think there are alot more linting towels out there than people even realize. If you are wiping them on a white or silver car for example, you might not even notice the significant lint trails unless you put an artificial light on it...

Found a MF towel that doesn't lint!!!

The 3 non-linting Supreme Shines I bought from Meguiar's Online. They had packaging that said "Gold Class" Supreme Shines and did not look like the packaging on the website. They are great. So, I buy 9 more from detailing.com and these ones have packaging that looks like the Meguiar's website...

Found a MF towel that doesn't lint!!!

One more thing. The CD test seems flawed to me. I can make EVERY towel scratch a CD depending on the pressure I used. I actually found that the Cobra Super 600's I got recently had the WORST scratching edging of any towel I have ever tried on a CD. I'm giving some Adams' waffle weave...

Found a MF towel that doesn't lint!!!

I have 21 Supreme Shines. 18 of them lint like crazy, 3 do not. I have 3 Ultimate Wipes. All 3 lint. Rub them on glass and it looks like snow. Why do 3 supremes not lint? I'm convinced they are not all made in the same place or conditions.

How often can you use detailing spray?

Buy yourself a NEW California Car Duster. Use no pressure and dust the surface with just the tips of the duster to knock the large dust particles off. Then, use your quick detailer with microfiber. I tried to use just quick detailer with towel for a few months and I produced some swirls. If you...

Ultimate Wipe Detailing Cloth vs Supreme Shine MF Towel?

I have 21 Supreme Shines and 3 Ultimate Wipes. The Ultimates do "grab" well for removing wax or polish without multiple passes. Only 3 of my Supreme Shines are suitable for quick detailing, all of the others lint. This seems to be some sort of anomaly. These 3 may have come in the newer "GOld...

    Microfiber Towel: Buffing and QD

They are grey, but the light in the photo is washing the color out. Has anyone tried wiping these on glass? WHOA! What is is about wiping microfiber on glass that makes them disintegrate? For some reason, it seems that using a quick detailer gives some of the same qualities to paint, thereby...

    Microfiber Towel: Buffing and QD

I tested my new Cobra 530's and special gold towels with a quick detailer BEFORE I ever washed them. They linted from the start. One wash on a long cycle, front loader, with only a small amount of He detergent doesn't seem to have made any difference. frustrating.
