Suv mobile detail? I have questions

To the OP: ONR is your friend. I used it on 80% of my customers cars/trucks/suvs. I did keep a 25 gallon tank 1/2 to 2/3 full for the occasional time I needed to use the pressure washer on mud covered vehicles.

    Best water saving methods?

For washing I buy a 24 pack from Sams Club. They work well and are cheap enough that I don't mind tossing them when they get worn or uncleanable. They get retired to APC duties inside the car eventually. If one of them touches the ground it gets trashed. Don't ever use one on paint if its...

    Best water saving methods?

Keep using ONR. Your on the right track. I've started presoaking my cars and going over it with a slightly ringed out microfiber towel. I commonly use 4-6 towels per car. More if needed.

Poll: Use your smartphone for business?

I certainly use my Droid everyday. GPS to find those customers houses where banjo music is the 2nd most popular thing they do :o Square so I don't have to drive to the bank. Scheduler so I don't forget a customer or overbook. Some before and after pics of headlights to show customers what...

Poll: Do you service car dealers?

I do dealerships but headlight restoration only. I know what they pay some of the local shops for a full detail. $90/car. OK in my area if its a corolla but not for a chevy tahoe. They pay on the 10th of every month for the prior month. Its money so I'm happy.. YMMV.

Starting my Mobile Business But super scared

I agree with rolop6 on the equipment. His list almost matches what I have. I would suggest the little green machine w/heat sooner rather than later. It will pay for itself after two or three uses. Mine lasted about one year and was money well spent. I made almost $2000 on carpet alone last...

Between a car wash and a single bucket from ONR. What's your choice?

To me its a no brainer. ONR all the way. ONR used improperly is still better than a tunnel car wash that beats the paint up and adds all those scratches.

ONR from a portable spray dispenser

Thanks Chris. Thats the ratio I was leaning toward. I haven't thought about using Opti-Clean. I will get some on my next order and try it. With my current repeat customers I could take care of everyone of them. Makes using the Dodge Magnum as my detailing vehicle that much easier.

ONR from a portable spray dispenser

I'll waste my money as I see fit. But, I haven't wasted any as far as I'm concerned. I had most of the need parts in my garage. My 12v pump puts out 60 psi and up to 3gpm. Thats as good as most spigots on a house. When you use a spray nozzle that will mist it works very good at misting...

ONR from a portable spray dispenser

Thanks guys. Fast replies. weavers - I use a small sparyer like that also. I just wanted something a little bigger with more capacity. The rinsing capability of the small sprayer is limited as it empties pretty fast.

ONR from a portable spray dispenser

Gas prices are hurting my bottom line so I'm switching my mobile unit from my truck to a Dodge Magnum. I use ONR on 90% of the cars I do so massive quantites of water I do not need. I can do my usual 4 or 5 cars a day and keep my water usage under 10 gallons. Having said the above, I have...

    New mobile detailing vehicle! Possibly!.

I might add a small trailer to my arsenal. Not a big fan of roof racks or HHRs. That is the exact ladder I use. Was on sale for $79 last year when I purchased. I have a number of customers that I service where they work. No water or electricty is available in the middle of a parking...

It looks a lot like this one. Will be easy to add some lettering to the rear hatch and rear sides for some advertising.

    New mobile detailing vehicle! Possibly!.

I've been working out of my truck for the last year. Wanting to replace it with something that gets better fuel milage and way less miles on it. Will need a vehicle that lends itself to double duty since I'm a soccer dad and family man. Found a Dodge Magnum with the 3.5 V6. I use ONR on...

What electric pressure washer do you use?

I bought mine from lowes last year. Task force is the name and $49 was the cost. Regular price was $99. It works great for my mobile setup. Handle leaks a little after a years worth of use. I use ONR on 90% of my vehicles. YMMV

How are you guys marketing ONR wash or waterless wash?

I explain ONR to my customers as soap without the soap suds. Hence the "rinseless" not waterless use. The word waterless scares customers but when you explain that water and high tech polymer based soap is used they understand and are more comfortable. If you get to technical with many...

    car washing horror stories

A local car wash shop will use the same 5 gallon bucket of water on numerous cars until the water is dirty and needs replaced. Same rag used by one guy all day long. You always see lots of bath towels hanging around on the rusty hand rails. Unfortunately many people take their vehicles there...

Great turnaround. I use the exact same products as you. I've had similiar outcome with just as nasty vehicles. The Bissel LGM w/heater is a great item for some starting a small business. Mine lasted almost a year before the handle broke. Its my fault it broke as I was applying to much...
