As the winter months are coming, ONR is my best friend. To some customers, they still prefer the traditional wash vs this new waterless wash they've never heard of which to them, might scratch their car. And from there, I gotta actually explain them the whole process.. "the solution encapsules the dirt bla bla bla"

I'm thinking of putting up the services description on my website. Any fancy way of marketing to make them BELIEVE?

I haven't done it, but if I were to market "waterless wash" I'd include the following:
Safe for paint due to latest technology.
No mess in any location even with other cars nearby.

The marketing is kind of already done for you. The companies that make the products already supplied it.

I wouldn't for cars that are really dirty...

That's just me though. If cars are really dirty waterless washes are going to scratch them. They have to be rinsed first. And even after that a conventional is easier if the car was so nasty.

I would get the car into the garage and wash it if dirty.

There are waterless washes from some companies that have clay fillers in them that fill the scratches as you create them. To me I think that's a terrible thing to do to customer but some people are fine with that.

I think a slick brochure would be helpful for some that think rinseless washes are not safe as well as the risks of a drive through type wash.

I explain ONR to my customers as soap without the soap suds. Hence the "rinseless" not waterless use. The word waterless scares customers but when you explain that water and high tech polymer based soap is used they understand and are more comfortable. If you get to technical with many customers you will scare them away. YMMV

I wouldn't even think or trying to market ONR or another waterless/rinseless wash to a customer. Customers might have a tough time accepting that it is a propper way of cleaning a car since most people have always learned how to wash a car in the traditional way. I wouldn't even lie to a customer, but I don't think I would use ONR or another product like to to try and upsell or just sell a customer a service. Just my .02.

I use waterless wash and rinseless wash 90% of the time and most of my customers don't even know all they know or care about is the end results.

I'm not sure I could do it- hell, I'm afraid to even do it on my own cars!

Truth be told, most people WANT to see the production. They want to look out at a truck full of supplies. They want to see multiple buckets, multiple mitts, different cleaners and towels and spray bottles. They see what we do, and think it's black magic, and that they could NEVER acquire such vast materials to perform the work. All this tells them that we, the detailers, are worth the premium that they pay us- and our results speak for themselves!

[In reality- I enjoy educating people. I want them to know that this isn't rocket science, and you can do a lot with very little. I want them to know how to personally care for their paint, so they don't screw it up for me to correct again later :xyxthumbs:

If someone saw me using a rinseless system on their car, and didn't know what it was, they'd think I was just using a quick detailer, or cutting corners on them.

Just my honest opinion! I know the rinseless washes have their place, but in Texas it doesn't get cold enough! Further, water usage hasn't been an issue [yet], so the rinseless craze just hasn't caught on.

(Disclaimer- I am going to, in the future, give the rinseless a try on my personal vehicles. Less water used = lower water bill, right? Who can't get behind that?)

I don't market it at all. I do what needs to be done to wash the car in the environment I am in. If the customer has questions I will gladly answer.

To this day I've never had one complaint.
