Jay...sorry for just now seeing this. I don't come on the forum that often these days. It takes a little bit of patience but yes you can set it up yourself. You just have to make sure you do a little at a time as to not bend the legs too far.

Very SLOWLY...it's do-able. I have a 12" x 14" and I've been able to setup and break down by myself. It's a lot of jiggling and shaking loose.

IMHO the blue rolled edge MF's are the best. They don't leave loose strands of fiber everywhere. Great for wax removal and as a QD towel

Be careful with this stool. I've had one break on me. My suggestion is to only use it on flat surfaces.
