    How much to charge

I started at 14... It's been great to me all throughout high school (17 now btw). Congrats on starting your own gig! The $30-40 hourly rate seems pretty common on this forum.. To me, if I can earn $20-25/hr, I am content. I recommend you charging similar rates, but please do what you are...

    Pressure washer

It will cut your work time and make your life easier... IMO, invest in a good one, otherwise it is useless. Expect to spend between $350-500. Good luck!

My first boat detail. It's a doosie!

So to clarify, is there any possibility of a PC7424XP being useful on a boat detail? I have a boat scheduled two weeks from now and may have to buy a rotary... Thoughts?

Best 5.5" Pads to go on PC7424XP

Hey AG, It's about that time, when I must order another six pack of 5.5" pads for my PC... I am coming off of six LC-CCS 5.5's, and to be honest, I'm not overly impressed. In comparison to Meguiar's, the foam structures seem to collapse quickly and under little to no pressure. SO, the question...

    Best Approach to 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350

Good morning AG! It's been a while.. A friend of mine bought himself a 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350 in Obsidian Black. It is a gorgeous car, with the AMG-Style Wheels, Tan Leather, Etc... He asked me what the best way to avoid surface marring is. He will be having me do a treatment to the car, and...

    Detailing Vehicle / Personal Vehicle

I recently bought a black 2003 Hummer H2, and I LOVE IT! They are a great choice, impress clients as somewhat of a specialty vehicle, and the gas isn't as bad as it would seem... However, the Element does sound like a great choice with its versatility. Good luck!!

    PC Continues to Give Trouble

Hey Autogeek! Wondering if anyone else is having severe issues with their 7424XP? My spindle from the motor to the backing plate and counterweight had broke on my last one, so I ordered a new one and fixed the other. My new one=same issue. However, after being fixed, this one is extremely hard...

    AIO Before Sealant?

Good morning autogeek! Today I am performing a full detail on a 2012 VW Passat TDI. The customer wants me to apply Simoniz System 5 to the paint for added winter protection. I was unsure about one thing... Being a synthetic teflon sealant, would Megs Cleaner Wax (Burgundy bottly) work as a...

    Durability Products for Ford Raptor

Gorgeous truck! My father drives the Raptor regularly, as a gm of local ford dealership. IMO, the trim isn't very welcoming to protectants. It seems different, and may not even require any application. I'm speaking of the matte fender flares, and grille. 16 Years Young, three years in business!!

    2 Gallons of Meg's Final Inspection $0.10

Also, be careful when working with black or dark colored paints. I don't recommend using aggressive clay, unless needed. I scratched up an Audi a4 pretty badly, and it took several more compounding passes to correct. I have had very good luck with Mild clay, as it is much stronger than the...

    For You Turtle Wax Fans

IMO, Turtle Wax is usually NOT the "go-to" in my cabinet. However, their Ice Synthetic Polish is able to hide paint imperfections such as minor scratches and front end pitting rather easily. I apply it to parts of my Mustang paint which have been effected by Connecticut winters, and the paint...
