After talking to Chris@Optimum at length he doesn't like Eraser. He said he has seen less than favorable results using it w/ OC. However he does recommend using Optimum's final polish that you wipe off with a damp MF towel and go straight to OC. Take that FWIW.

I don't think this has been answered. After polishing you want to use an IPA wipedown or something similar. Compounds/polishes can have a filling effect due to the chemicals that transport the abrasives. Another reason is to make sure all the polish/compound is off the panel...
