carpro eraser vs menzerna top inspection

Eraser is great if you're using CarPro products. Other than that, I'm hesitant to use it because CarPro openly admits that it leaves something behind for anti static. This concerns me if doing a wipe down prior to using non CarPro LSP's. I may try top inspection

This is from the CarPro USA website:

Eraser also has anti-static components to resist dusting after wiping. The paint will stay dust-free while you’re in the process of applying Cquartz so you don’t have to keep re-cleaning panel by panel.

It does not appear to state that it leaves something behind.

Maybe it is like a DI water wipe down; which is supposed to neutralize the static charge, but obviously leaves nothing behind.

CarPro freely admits that Eraser does leave something behind(some type of surfactant). However, most peolpe haven't seen any bonding issues when applying an LSP or coating.

After talking to Chris@Optimum at length he doesn't like Eraser. He said he has seen less than favorable results using it w/ OC. However he does recommend using Optimum's final polish that you wipe off with a damp MF towel and go straight to OC.

Take that FWIW.

I like Chris, but think about it, he works for optimum. Gee, I wonder why he doesn't like eraser. Sure, optimum final polish presents no bonding issue before OC, but it's ironic how it's an optimum product. Ya follow me?

Yes, it is that sulphate surfactant listed on the previous page. There is actually quite a bit of it in there. Most APCs will have less than 10% active surfactant content in the concentrate so will have quite a bit less than 1% once you have it diluted for use.

Yeah I follow you bro. Hence the FWIW comment.

Anyone ever thought about mixing ipa with onr to replace an eraser or top inspection?

Curious if anyone has done this.

Hyper Polish > Alcohol treatment for OC works great for me. I would suggest using a lot less product and keeping the residue to a minimum.
