Longest lasting Synthetic Paint Sealant for Daily Driver? (poll)

I feel like on my vehicles all of the top products mentioned duragloss, collinite, PBMG produts, I only get a month or two max. My new favorite option is to use a coating once per year, and use the new Sio2 Blue wash and spray every time I wash. Great value if you buy the gallon, and makes...

    Mckees Hydro Blue on Fiberglass

It can without harm...If you're addressing a surface like pictured in your sig then you may have some streaking issues because of all of the obstacles for the water path. You may have a little extra work when drying due to trying to wipe away streaks. Someone else would have to address...

    McKees37 Hydro Blue Sio2 Spray

If you buy Mckee's HB by the gallon it's a terrific value.

    damp microfiber for wax removal

I've given up on buffing with MF. I just fire up my pressure washer and hammer the living ---- out of the painted surfaces that are waxed. I'll tell you what, I've never had any wax left over. Funny though, beading and sheeting are horrible... Oh and FUNX650, cure time must be about a year...

Not my first detail, but what am I not doing right this time?

I would go with Mike Philips advice...Start with the least aggressive and work your way up. I suggest getting more aggressive for the marring until you discover a product pad combo that works. As far as haze, let the polish of your choice take care of that.

question about the pad and backing plate

Griot's DAs are pretty powerful aren't they? Start with 50% speed and work your way up from there perhaps?

Not my first detail, but what am I not doing right this time?

I agree with above...I'm no expert either. I love Megs Ultimate Compound, but it strikes me as more of a polish than a true compound (something in between). So, depending on the pad you are using, perhaps something more aggressive is in order.

Why certain threads are deleted, while others left up?

Just create a new title, and post it all over gain...Maybe this time it will be overlooked. Who was the joker that was ragging on you for breaking forum rules? Unless they work here, why would anyone WANT to be a whistle blower on a product review? I'm more interested in the guy policing...

    Claying

You can get the double nanoskin set for $25 bucks from here. I'd call that a block(s) for just a little bit more than regular clay.

    Claying

Compared to clay lube (I put UWW+ prescribed dilution for clay) soapy suds provided a much slicker surface...Made it much more comfortable. Also, as fast as nanos are, washing your vehicle and claying right at the same time! That's absurd time savings.

    Layering Optiseal

Only when trying to apply a second app on top of an existing using a foam applicator...perhaps this would not happen with the nap of a microfiber. Point being, it won't accept a second coat. I am not stating that it flakes or powders as a product in general.

The sound of the highway next to my house. All those cars...so many swirls.

    Layering Optiseal

What SID above said is true of a similar coating who's branding I cannot speak here. If you were not extremely deliberate and detailed in your coat then a second "layer" more like a pass will be worth it. You will find that there will be some white flakey residue and powder because the...
