I use it barely wet with water but spray the glass with CarPro Clarify. Works fine. Then dry the glass with a squeegee.

2 or 3 years it’s time to re-do. Quick polish and apply fresh coating.

In this case you’d benefit from bypassing the softener as your city water has lower TDS.

Test the TDS of your water before and after softener. The lower TDS you feed the CR, the longer the resin will last. But having CR before softener makes no sense as DI water doesn’t need to be softened and if you do, you’ll introduce solids that remained in the resin after a backwash.

I’ve never been able to blend it well, always had to polish and coat the entire panel again to achieve satisfactory results.

BTW, I've applied SiC 4 hours after UK when I thought it was like Gliss and it worked fine as well. No ill effects like they say you can see if you take over an hour for the UK's 2nd coat.

Same time as between the UK coats. 1 hour after your last UK go ahead with SiC.

Meguiar's #39 was great but they no longer make that. McKee's 37 has a product for that that works fine. Also a regular rubber eraser can be quite useful.

I much prefer flat pads. My CCS is my least favorite pad. It just seems to hold product in the dimples and after a few sessions it gets hotter than flat pads. Lake Country Thin Pros and Rupes yellow are my favorite.

If you do it right after polishing that is a possibility. That's why many like to wait a few hours and I opt to wait overnight. That gives the SiO2 in it time to cure and then Eraser just removes any leftover oils which may not be a lot if you polished with a machine.

I like to polish with Essence and then give it overnight to cure, then in the morning wipe with Eraser and coat. I don’t know if that’s the right way but it is a way that has worked well for me.

Agreed. I’ve never used mine plugged in, the battery lasts all day with my usage so I just charge overnight regardless of how much is left.

Are you sure you’re looking at the battery indicator and not the brightness indicator on the back?

At this point they could really benefit from taking some of us more active members and promoting to moderators, I’m sure we could keep the house clean for them.

I remember using McKee’s 37 SiO2 Auto Wash which smells great, like watermelons, and every time I washed bees would come to the area I was washing. I guess they also liked the smell. But once done washing they were gone. And bead maker attracts dust, not bugs :)

Yeah, I bet it’s related to the car being outside all the time and not washed regularly. Water beading from rain starts to look pretty bad but then with a wash it returns. When I had a car that stayed outside 24x7 and was coated with UK3.0 that didn’t happen, beading was always pretty strong.

Touch less does work pretty well. I plan on using that followed by CarPro Descale soon. That should bring the nice tight beads back. Just waiting for this pollen to settle down a bit.
