Hello one & all. :xyxthumbs:

So, I was on the phone to my good friend Mike Phillips yesterday morning (late afternoon for him) & I was working on a sweet 1995 Dodge Viper & Mike said how he liked the Viper so I figured I’d share a few pictures.

Although this beast has only travelled a mere 15,000 miles in its 24 years the paintwork didn’t share the engines youth. Lots of swirls & RIDS that were so consistently everywhere that you could hardly say they were “Random”.

Objective - The owner had only purchased this Viper a Month ago & through word of mouth he had heard that I was the one to bring it to to enhance the finish of this middle aged muscle car. Complete correction was advised against as this was going to be used & driven as often as possible. Bravo to that I say!

Our aim was to get around the 75-80% correction mark & all in all we achieved around 80-90%, happy days. :dblthumb2:

As it arrived -

Prep consisted of half waterless wash & half traditional bucket & water approach. Wheels, Tires, Wheel arches & lower panels were all chemically decontaminated & washes down, whilst the upper body received a waterless wash & mechanical decontamination.

Test spots carried out, paint considered on the medium hardness side (was expecting hard hard paint) & best results consisted of this combo - Flex 3401, Lake Country Blue SDO Pads & 3D ONE. This resulted in a great amount of defects removed but also finished down extremely well. I followed with Orange Lake Country SDO Pads & Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish for further enhancement & Pop! :buffing:

Results are pretty fair & overall in “The Big Picture” a massive improvement.

Buff, polish repeat . . . & coating prep & Installation carried out & some beauty shots taken . . . Oh & even a picture of Aaryn NZ himself in there too I see. :goodjob2:

Wow, just WOW Aaryn!!

So cool, man! Sweet ride and awesome work as always. :props:

Top work mate, and whilst it wasn’t a 100% correction, you’ve jewelled that emerald.

Did mike have any particular advice for the viper paint?

Just WOW Aaryn! Awesome work and write up and pictures as always. And what a beauty and cool car!

Stunning work, as usual mate. I hope your customer's are paying for not only the highest quality of work BUT ALSO the knowledge to suggest less than 100% full cutting to preserve that 19 year old paint! That, to me, is very very valuable.

And even with your less than full correction it looks incredible. Beautiful work!

Great work on that Aaryn! Owner must be over the moon with how it turned out!

Thanks WristyManchego. :xyxthumbs:

Haha, no .... actually apart from mentioning the Viper it was more of a social call but my guess is Mike would’ve suggested a “Test Spot”. :props:

Saweeet!

I love Vipers! V10 all the way buddy!

Cool color too! Nice work!

:)

Thank you Mike. :xyxthumbs:

Very cool colour on a very cool car. :dblthumb2:

Appreciate your comments my friend, thank you. :props:

Car looks awesome, but what with the altitude mask?

Thanks 2wookies. :xyxthumbs:

It’s a particulate mask to
protect against breathing in dust particles from polishing. :buffing: Google “Silicosis” & you may understand my reasoning. :xyxthumbs:

Appreciate the kind words my friend. Wait what??? You can get paid for this stuff???

Great work on that Aaryn! Owner must be over the moon with how it turned out!

Cheers Sizzle Chest. :xyxthumbs:

Actually Scott, this guy concerned me a little when he dropped it off - he appeared sceptical about the whole thing. I was pleasantly surprised when He & His Wife pulled up to collect it & he actually couldn’t stop smiling . . . Nailed it. :props:

awesome work. crazy to think that car is 30 years old and still holds up so well. I hate the color for that car personally, but I still love the look.

Dang good job there Aaryn!!!

I love a successful ending!

Tom

Probably one of the coolest cars to come out of America from the 90’s. I don’t think I’ve seen that color before. Bet Dodge had very low production with that paint. I never see 90’s, 2000’s, or 2010’s Vipers on the road. They are basically exotics in my part of the country:(

That is awesome work Aaryn!

very nice!!! Cool to see a older one in nice shape still!

Cheers Justin. :xyxthumbs:

Not super common down this way, so it’s kinda cool just to see one let alone work on one but yeah, a nice example with low mileage too.

Thanks Belo. :xyxthumbs:

I dig the colour & the car but agree with you - the two don’t really work so well.

Wooow

Funny to think that this was a poster car for me when I first started out “pro detailing” & yeah, I agree mate, these were definitely one of the coolest cars of the 90’s. Interesting that this colour doesn’t seem too common. There is another one nearly identical to this car on a local (NZ) buy/sell auction website for sale.

Thanks for the kind words my friend, much appreciated. :props:
