Great job there on that Vette !

Thank you ! :)

Thx for the reply!!

i have a question on the cquartz.

is there really a diference between finest and standar one? been the finest not available to us end users.

also theres many diferent info on the web on HOW to apply it and also the wait time for 2nd coats. Could u point out how do u do it?

Ok let me try to answer as best i can...

Finest has a 2 year warranty (regular CQ has no warranty and i believe is closer to 1 year in expected life...but double check that).

Finest from what i understand is chemically stronger and even more resistant to the elements than regular CQ.

The reason you see so many different ways to apply finest is because the formula has changed 3 times now. The initial one you had to get it on and off in about 3 minutes and then get the second coat on asap.

The 2nd version (one ive been using) you have a MUCH longer time frame...actually on this vette after i wiped away the 2nd coat...about 2 hours later when the owner came to pick up...he and i both noticed a small smudge in a corner...was just a little residue of finest left...it buffed right off...after 2 hours...so you have a lot more wiggle room than the 1st version offered.

The 3rd version is in between, the set time is suppose to be around 10 minutes and then you have to get your 2nd coat on within 30 minutes or else the FIRST coat will actually repel the 2nd coat lol..thats pretty insane i think. I have a small bottle im suppose to test in my climate which i should be doing this weekend.

Thats why you see so many different application methods. I believe the UK version is 1 step down from Finest...and it too is suppose to be around a year or so as far as lasting...a couple other detailers i know have used it and have really liked how it looks..just gotta be careful while applying it to be sure it is totally wiped in (you dont let it set and remove like finest) so that you dont end up with high spots.

Very nice work and write up. It is a pleasure to read and look at the pics.

thx for taking the time to reply , iguess i ll have to email carpro to know wich version my cq ( std one not finest ) is and how to properly wiped off/add 2nd coats
