:xyxthumbs: guess we are all guilty at one point of putting our soap in the bucket first, then adding water. this morning i took his tip of filling the bucket up 1/2 with water first, then the car wash product, then add the rest of the water. BIG DIFFERENCE! produces a much better wash solution. less waste of the suds. :props:

Oh God now his head is going to get even bigger :D

I'm guilty of soap first, this sounds like a method I will try! Thanks guys.

Never heard of that one. Thanks. Gonna have to try it later on

I remember Mike Philips doing a video about this a few years ago
Go you YouTube and look for How to Wash Your Car (ShowCar style!) and you'll find it. It's 28 minutes long and he's washing a Mini Cooper. First time I had ever heard of a Grit Guard, the water then soap, and how to measure out my soap easier.

I like tons of suds. This is not Tide in the washing machine. I think subs are nice and am going to continue doing soap first then water.

Does anyone have scienctific proof that less sub is better?

If you use a rinseless, then it can go in first

nanny nanny boo boo

You can always buy a foam lance if more soap foam or suds is what you desire. :xyxthumbs:

I started doing this after watching that video some time ago. Also after that video, I started using less passes....

Am I the only one here who doesn't like suds in the bucket?!?:hijacked:

:iagree:

Washing a car without suds is like drinking a flat coke

After exhaustive surveys and studies by a Task Force the results were submitted to a Blue Ribbon Committee which released them through a select panel of expert spokespersons. It has been determined beyond a shadow of a doubt that yes, you are indeed the only one here that doesn't like suds in the bucket. Glad we could clear that up.

level of accuracy +/- 100%

TL <--- obviously worked for the Gov't far too long

 Very true, man...:dblthumb2:

For the most part suds mean nothing, its the lubricity of the water that counts.

Awesome!! Glad I could be of help!! :dblthumb2:

I use Dodo Wax Safe wash and the recommended dilution is 400:1. So, I first fill up my bucket with 400 ounces of water(tad over 3 gallons), then add 1 ounce of soap. I then take my grit guard, turn it on its side, and swish back and forth aggressively to mix the solution. I end up with more than enough suds, but more importantly, a properly mixed wash solution. :props:

Next time, try adding all the water first! :dblthumb2:

So you like 2% water and 98% suds? Look at my reply right above this and you'll still get plenty of suds!

Oh God now his head is going to get even bigger :D
It's already big, literally. :(

Or if it's somehow possible, his biceps. :D
I'm just a small dog. :)

I asked Dr. G (Optimum) and he said the suds have the same ratio of water to soap as the main solution. I was surprised. I do think suds help reduce drag on paint with wool mitts.

I'm not saying suds are bad, but a whole lot of them are not needed.

Ever since I started using ONR, I realized suds aren't really that important. Getting the right dilution mixed is most important and then any suds that come after that are good enough
