I placed this in the off topic section because it is not a finished job but it seems to be a car of interest. I just had a meeting with a new client and snapped a few pictures of the car that we will be doing in 2 weeks. The client and I talked about what will be done to the car, the processes I will use and I covered some basics of detailing with him so that he would have a clear understanding of the work that will take place on his car. He and I are both confident of his understanding of what will take place. I told him this will take place over 3 days and we agreed on a price.

On to the car. Now i am not a Corvette guy so I don't know or remember all the names that he mentioned. The client describes the car as a 1000 HP Twin Turbo C-5 Z06 Lingenfelter corvette that he picked up for $50,000 and put an additional $30,000+ into. He mentioned the name of an Iranian guy that does some extreme Corvette builds. Anyway that guy built the car as it is now. This car is completely tuned using a laptop. Pretty impressive car IMO. The client said if he likes the outcome of the paint correction that he has a lot more work for me so a lot rides on this job. This car has apparently been featured in several magazines and videos.

Here are a few photos of the car, all of which show that I will have my work cut out for me.

The car is in this general condition paint wise.

He told me that there were only 40 sets of these wheels made.

These next 2 photos show the openings for the fresh air brake cooling ducts that blow fresh air directly on to the rotors and calipers.

Here are the fresh air intake filters situated where a license plate would normally be.

Here is a pic with the air intake cover installed on the car.

Another good shot of the paint condition.

Here is a couple shots of the engine bay. We agreed that we would get through the paint correction and then discuss getting the engine bay hand detailed as I do have other jobs lined up that interfere with spending a solid week on this car.

Overall I am pretty excited about working on such a cool car and very grateful to have the opportunity to grow my business with this new client. I will take lots of photos and post up a write up with photos, processes and products. Thanks for looking. TD

Is that a true Lingenfelter? Does not have any markings as one. Looks to be maybe a Z06 with a Lingenfelter similar motor build. Otherwise that is a very nice car to work on and some difficult paint to work on...cant wait to see the outcome.

Nice car! Wow! 1K hp... tough to make effective use of that kind of power.

I know next to nothing about Lingenfelter, except that I do business with a guy who has the name plastered across his Vette windshield in two inch white letters. I asked him about the mods one day. He replied that he had a stock car, except for the Lingenfelter body kit. What th....? I don't get it.

(Hey, Dave, do the guy a favor and get him a $20 K&N Air Filter cleaner kit.)

Yeah, I would question whether it is a true Lingenfilter Corvette too. Especially at the price that he paid for it.

Believe it or not but some people request not to have any markings showing the car to be a Lingenfelter.

The stripes on the fender lead me to believe this may be a ZR-1.

I am going off what he told me that it was a Lingenfelter, then he had some guy from Iran do the mods to the car and the motor. The only thing I know for sure is that this job will be done with lots of tape and brand new pads. Thanks for the replies. Just sharing my excitement for detailing such a cool car.

What an awesome vette...but I also think it is probably not a Lingenfelter 427 TT - regardless the car rocks!

As I said earlier I am not a Corvette guy so I know very little. He said it was unique in that most guys do these kind of mods to the 427 but that this is a 346 engine.

No Sir. It's a C5. There were no C5 ZR-1s made by the General.
He added the stripes to the one fender after he picked the car up. In fact he has me removing those stripes before I get into the paint correction. He said that that was a kit that he might or might not replace after the work is done.

It's not a Ling, those are in the $150,000 neighborhood. Still a sweet car. And from the sound of it, a good job by you means more work. Good Luck with it! And if the owner says it's a Ling, well then by golly it's a Ling!

LOL , that's my take on it because from where I am standing he is the boss.

Rule #1. The boss is always right.
Rule #2. If the boss is wrong, refer to rule #1.
