Well this is my first show n shine. I am a weekend warror who has been cleaning cars wrong for years since I was a kid. After I discovered this site I invested in a PC and some products and towels and now I am hooked like when i was a kid. I did my whole Charger and now this is my second car with the PC.

This is my wife's 12 Subaru Crosstrek. It already has around 22K miles on it. This is her DD which was never protected since the day we got it.

My process and materials
  1. Wash - Chem Guys Mr Pink (2 bucket system)
  2. Decontaminate - CarPro IronX and TarX
  3. Clay - Chem Guys Blue Clay
  4. Detail Spray/Lube - Gary Dean's Detail Juice
  5. Polish - Megs 205 on Green Hex Logic Pad
  6. Porter Cable - Mostly speed 5. Sometimes speed 6 if more swirls.
  7. Sealant - Megs 2.0 Sealant
  8. Wax - Chem Guys Butter wax
  9. Others - Mothers Back to Black on trim. Armor All Extreme Tire Shine on tires. (used applicator)

Some things I learned
  • M205 on the Green pad was enough to get 90% of the swirls out of the paint.
  • I was not able to get out the deeper stuff.
  • Subaru paint seemed pretty soft and easy to work with.
  • The bumpers were harder to remove the swirls and scratches. I tried M105 on a green pad and that worked better but I think if I went to an orange pad I think I would have achieved 100% perfect.

This is my wifes DD therefore I was not going to go the extra mile to make it perfect...I was very happy with the way it turned out. Next week we will wash it and finish waxing it off. We will tackle the interior and I will get at those wheel wells which I forgot. My wife even waxed some of it. Chem Guys butter wax is super easy to apply and remove.

Fun little car for tough winters. She loves it and it happy it is protected now. I think it looks better than when we took it home from the dealer. Here are some pictures.

Looks great! My wife has a white 2013 Impreza. We really liked theCrossteks but had read and heard about fuel milage issues.
Still a cool vehicle.

Excellent work; and on white paint no-less!

Yeah we finished up the car fully this past saturday. Full covered in CG Butter wax. Paint feels fantastic after clay, polish, seal and wax. I still see swirls here and there but it didnt feel like it was worth it right now. Maybe before winter I will go over some of the trouble spots again.

As of right now though the car looks better than when we brought it home.

Awesome job! I'm more interested in the reflection I c of the beast on the other side of the garage !LOL

Excellent job and nice reflection shots! Id like to see that charger...

My wife is starting to like these now, maybe an replacement for the Mazda 6 when they hit the used car market, what kind of mpg does it get, drop me a PM if you could about it, thanks!

I think the Subaru came out great! The finish is clean and has a nice glow to it.

Your product choices were spot on and the results are proof positive...:props:

Looks great. M205/M21 is a good combo and it gave it some nice gloss.

I have a 2014 Crosstrek and Impreza (same vehicle without lift) and we average 29 mpg driving in town and 34 mpg driving highway/interstate at an average of 70mph. Wait till you test drive one of these. You will love it! The only negative for me is the soft paint. Probably easy to do a correction but every time of get on interstate I get a new small chip/roadrash on the front.

Thanks Jem, that's really good mileage for a vehicle with AWD!

I though it was wierd this weekend i gave a quick wash and the water just sheeted off the car. I put sealant and wax on this car...why no beading? My charger beads like crazy.
