14 Corvette - my own detail

So here's the thing, so much controversy over the rear (too high of a diffusor/Camaro-style tailights) of the C7
Here's one that has its rear valance/diffuser/lower fascia
painted color-matching CGM. Looks better this way...IMO.

And, of course, there's already aftermarket round taillamps/lenses available:

I really don't mind the black diffuser with the cyber gray, but hate the "runny mascara tears" vents so I painted them body color - much better...

Thanks for the pics Bob, especially the painted diffusor, 100% agree! I hear what your saying Glen and yeah, not "as bad" on your color, just wish it didn't take up half the rear bumper, its just way too much, only the 14' Camaro has the same problem. If it was in proportion and not so dominating it wouldn't bother me as much, I've even "accepted" the tails, for the most part but looking at the pic Bob has put up w/ the round tails conversion, well I'd look into something like that for sure, although I've heard its $3k for the conversion, hard core!

Glen, I like the plasti-dipped CORVETTE badge but in the pic its hard to tell you painted the tailight surrounds body color, surely its more noticeable inperson and I bet it looks great! I've already found chrome overlays or surrounds for the tails, OMG does it look horrrrible! The tacky items for Corvette's seems endless, really sad but atleast we will not see that here on AG members Corvettes!!

I don't think the new tail lights look bad, but the round conversion tails look better IMO. Looks more like a vette.

My whole life I've been a Corvette hater. I just never liked the things. However, this new one here has changed my mind. I think it looks superb.

I loved the older corvettes but wasn't a fan of the modern styles at all until this one. This car is one of my favorite designs for the corvette without a doubt.

I'm really glad the C7 has taken such a great leap forward in interior quality but the fact that everyone says this is the problem when you think about it. Going back decades the interior has been a let down compared to its competition. Back in 1984 the car was called a "world class sportscar", remember the "life begins at 150" campaign? Going forward the interior bits were always a harder plastic type, things you touched felt cheap, then there were the seats, a Dodge Neon SRT4 back in 2003 had better seats, really, a cheap, sub $20k compact car, pathetic! I remember watching 5th gear and they had the 60th anniverary 427 convertable and they found all the squeaks and rattles, terrible and embarassing IMO, we've gotta do better and stop holding onto this "best bang for the buck" thing. Sure its not going to be a hand made Ferrari costing $250-300K and doesn't need to be, just make a quality piece and do what you do best and let the comparisons come natrually, ok.

Can we get some more pics....please? Like of the "stinger" stripe for instance!

sure - stinger stripe, Opti coat on pipes, etc:

also a friend's cyber gray with alos the BF total polish and Crystal seal:

Beautiful car Glen!! :xyxthumbs:

Congrats and nice job on the detailing.

hmmmmm, hard to tell if the detail is really up to par. Would probably need a closer look from a different perspective. I think the driver's seat would be a good place to judge it from :xyxthumbs:.

I keep telling my wife I need to get a 2nd vette so I can put a "my other car's a corvette" license plate frame on them. A C7 would be perfect in the garage. She's not going for it.

It's one of those cars I have to look at every time I get an opportunity. Very nice!

Thanks Glen, looks great, the "stinger" stripe is a little hard to see but its there. I don't care for the black wheels on anything, just something else that's hard to maintain and IMO doesn't compliment the car.

What else do you have planned for the car Glenn?
