1967 Camaro SS convertible / Paint Correction and High Gloss Polish 🌴 A Miracle Detailing
Tons of swirl marks and 1500-grit sanding marks covered the entire paintwork.
Sadly, this car was in bad shape. It needed an "Extreme Makeover".

Inspection:
DeFelsko PosiTest DFT Paint Thickness Gauge for ferrous/non-ferrous metals
DeFelsko 200C3-G PosiTector 200 C3 Advanced Ultrasonic Coating Thickness Gauge

Lighting:
ScanGrip MultiMatch 8 and MultiMatch 3 color from 2500k to 6500k. ScanGrip Sunmatch 3

Machines:
RUPES Bigfoot iBrid Nano Long Neck
RUPES BigFoot LHR 75E Mini
Rupes 21 with a Rupes 5" Backing Plate

Correction:
1) Carpro 5" microfiber pad
Meguiars M101 Ultra Pro Speed Compound (I love this stuff!)
2) Lake Country Orange HDO pad 5"
Meguiars M110 Ultra Pro Speed Compound (less dust, not as much cut)

Polishing:
3) CARPRO Gloss Finishing Pad - 5"
Meguiar`s M210 Mirror Glaze Ultra Pro Finishing Polish
4) Lake Country HDO Black Finishing Pad - 5 1/2"
CARPRO Reflect High Gloss Finishing Polish

Tools:
RYOBI Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer
MTM Hydro PF22.2 Professional Snow Foam Cannon
Metro Air Force Master Blaster

Cleaning Products:
CarPro IronX Snow Soap / Poorboys Super Slick & Foam Pre Wash Snow Foam
TUGA Devil Special Wheel Cleaner

Last Step Products:
Two coats of Collinite No. 845 Heavy Duty Insulator Wax
CARPRO ReTyre Tire & Rubber Cleaner (cleaning tires)
OBSSSSD Tire Dressing - Matte

Excellent work and write up.Props.

How long did it take from beginning to end?
 
Awesome job, but why was it covered in 1500 sanding marks? Did someone abandon the job?

I don't know the history...He recently purchased it. It was repainted.
He wasn't sure if it was painted 2 years ago or 10 years ago.
Anyway he waited 2 weeks for a "detailer" to come look at it.
The moment the "detailer" looked at it...he ran away!

At that point he brought it to me.
The first thing I did was a whip out the paint thickness gauge.
I was over 850 microns (33.5 mils)! I have never gotten a reading that thick.
My guess, it was orange and then it was painted yellow.
The sanding marks were horrible!

It took some time, but I cleared 'em up and it shined up sweet!
