Fully restored 1967 Mustang that the owner wants to sell, so I did a full correction and clean-up in preparation of that.

At first glance the paint looked pretty good, just some slight marring and light swirls. Unfortunately after beginning the correction it became apparent that the marring & light swirls were hiding all the RIDS underneath of them. To make things worse, the clear coat was extremely hard. After going over it with the Megs MF cutting pads and D300, I had to go over many areas again using M105. To make things even worse still, I was sick the whole time.

Not that many before photos because the car was in good shape other than the paint.

All photos taken by me.

Process:
Wheels cleaned with Sonax Full Effect
Tires cleaned with Amazing Roll Off
Foamed with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
Washed with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash using mf bone sponge and 2 bucket method with grit guards
Dried with Cobra Guzzlers
Clayed with Pinnacle Clay and ONR as lube
Compounded with Megs MF cutting pads and D300 and M105 via G110V2
Polished with Menz 85RD and LC Crimson Hydrotech pads via G110V2
Poorboys DMT mf towels used to remove compound/polish and LSP
Painted cleaned after polishing with Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish by hand and mf applicator
Paint sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond using LC flat blue finessing pad
Paint then topped with Blackfire Midnight Sun and LC flat constant pressure red ultrasoft pad
Glass cleaned with Invisible Glass and lint free mf towels
Interior vacuumed and cleaned with DP Total Interior Cleaner
Interior surfaces protected with DP Total Interior Surface Protectant
Engine cleaned with Optimum Power Clean at 3:1
Engine treated with both Aerospace 303 and Klasse AIO
Door jambs cleaned with Optimum Power Clean at 3:1 and sealed with Klasse AIO
All exterior trim protected with Aerospace 303
Chrome cleaned with Klasse AIO
Tires dressed with Optimum Tire Shine
Exhaust tips cleaned with P21S Polishing Soap and #0000 steel wool

Here is the trunk after compounding with D300. Not good enough so I went over it again with M105:

WOW!!

OH my God that Mustang is Gorgeous!! :props:

Talk about a wonderful stroll down memory lane and with such a classic automobile.

The detail restoration is nothing less than amazing. I'm really liking how the Meguiar's Microfiber DA Correction system's working on many of the cars posted here.

Thanks for posting some of the nicest photos I've seen in some time...:dblthumb2:

I've bookmarked this thread.

Nice car and great job. I had a friend that restored a 67 with his dad in their garage. That car looked amazing and I loved it. Tried to buy it from him when he put it up for sale but he wouldn't sell it to me

I say you increased the value of that car by at least a G. Nice work! :props:

I would not sell a car to a friend or neighbor either. Could be a fast way to lose a friend. You never know what is wrong with an old car.
