So last summer I ran into a very nice gentleman who happens to live near me and do high quality paintless dent removal. We chatted for a long time and he had mentioned about a jet black 69 Camaro that he had restored and works on over the winter months. Fast forward to last week and I get a call from him. He explained that the car was painted 3yrs ago and he had never did the orange peel removal process afterwards. Mainly because he wanted to get the car back together and enjoy it. Which he has been doing since completion. Now let me say that he did all of the restoration work himself including panel replacement and body work. His friend sprayed the car and it was done very nice. Back to the orange peel removal. He finally got the urge to tackle this project himself which is something that IMO is better left suited for a professional which he soon found out!

He did a great job leveling the clear but soon discovered polishing black paint and finishing it out right is a challenge. And rather keep struggling with it he wanted me to come over and tackle it. Upon arrival I saw pretty much what I was thinking happened. The paint was a hazy, dull hologramed mess. But it was flat lol.

So after some discussion I got to work. This project worked out well as I was able to go work a few hours at his shop and use it as a filler between other small jobs I have been doing.

Rundown of my process

M100 with Boss microfiber cutting pads on G21, Adams swirl killer mini
M205 with Rupes yellow on Rupes Duetto and swirl killer mini
Hyper Polish with Black LC Pro Thin Pad on Rupes Duetto and swirl killer mini
Rupes Nano Ibrid was also used as needed

Paint sealed with Mckees 37 High Def Paint Sealant
Wheels cleaned with Mckees waterless wash on the go
Tires dress with Mckees Gloss Tire Gel

Cleaned all the sanding sludge from the jambs with IGL Precoat and Mckees waterless wash

Nice work! What’s your review on the swirl killer mini? Do you feel it compares for the price to the Rupes...my biased judgement tells me no but I’ll wait to hear from a review such as the work done on this car as it would definitely test its ability.

In all honesty I think it's the most underrated machine. It's just as powerful and I have been using pretty much on every detail since mid last year without issues. I tried the Rupes mini from a friend of mine and it was nice but definitely not for that kind of coin. For half the price the Adams works just fine.

Great work and awesome reflection finish you got! It's a awesome car modell and fun to see him save it.

Great job man. I bet he's super excited.

Nice to hear good things about it. I might just have to buy one and try it out then...I guess if I don’t like it as much as my Rupes, it can always be a backup

The often overused phrase "mirror finish" absolutely and totally applies to this one!!! Gorgeous......

Nice show car detail Justin.

The results from before to after are inspiring and due the car justice. I know the owner is happy to see his pride and joy look like he always dreamed it could.

Thanks for sharing.

Couldn't agree more with what Mike has said here. :props:

* A - Beautifully executed paint correction Justin, simply stunning mate.

* B - Inspiring work for sure. As mentioned elsewhere, your work inspires me.

* C - Definitely! The owner must be over the moon with the results, & as Mike said - "like he always dreamed it could". Good intentions to do it himself but without the knowledge, products & tools to achieve this, he was simply chasing his tail & probably wasn't 100% sure why either.

Best decision he made was to have you work on his baby Justin. :props: Top work my friend, awesome results & thank you for sharing.

Aaryn thanks man! As for inspiration I guess we inspire each other. Especially after those two Morris Minors! Your absolutely right about him having the best intentions. He really is a skilled diy person when it came to building this car. But like he found out it takes someone skilled enough to finish out a car of this magnitude.

DDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Man that is beautiful! What a huge difference! Keep on Rocking!
