Ok so the first job to come into my new shop was a 1983 Ford Tempo that had been sitting in a barn for about 5 years... The car had some major miles (aprox 400k) and the guy just wanted the interior done as the paint and exterior was beyond a detailing job... He plans on having a cheap paint job slapped on it...
This car has been given to his daughter for graduation after the detail...

The products used were:
DP Total Interior Cleaner (3oz) and 303 Fabric and Vinyl Cleaner (3oz) mixed then 10:1 water
DP Kristal Vision Glass Cleaner
Scotch Guard with OXY Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner
Duramaid 1600 Extractor with water
Megs Natural Finish Dressing
A lot of elbow grease and patience

Here are the pics before and after:

Nice work!

Gotta say though, that interior was in remarkably good shape for having sat in a barn for 5 years and with 400K miles on it. Especially considering it's straight from Ford's poor build quality years.

It actually turned out to be a nice little car once all if the dirt and grime was removed.

Awesome work!

Thanks guys!

All the cloth was gone over at least 4 times with the extractor untill the water coming out was clearish... lol...

Nice job, though if I was the daughter I would save up a few grand for a better car haha.

I feel the same way but from what I can tell the car was her grandfathers and she for some strange reason loves that car (I know I wouldn't) but to each their own

That is a awesome turnaround. It looked horrible before and now its almost better that factory. Great Job!

Man I thought all those cars where scrapped! Great Job!

wow. Nasty. Whatever towels/rags you used should probably just be burned and buried.

jonn127 I have a feel that thing was so nasty most the towels he used are probably disintegrating as we speak from that gunk

ok where did you find a NOS red 83 tempo interior, seriously great job
I didn't find it IT FOUND ME! AHHHHHHHH! lol...

Naw, They clean right up and go to their next step in life; wheel, tire, and wheel well duty! lol...

One of them did kinda tear through... lol...

This is my kinda detail!! Nice job! :dblthumb2:
Honestly this one was not that "pain staking" and I knew what it was before I got into it... so I was able to quote it correctly...

Thanks for all of the complements guys/gals!

Great job!!! I was expecting worse too after that long in a barn.:props:

Some of those 'after' pictures could be mistaken for pictures used by Ford back in '83 as advertisements for this car. Awesome job!
