1985 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet
Black/Black

Original owner, vehicle is all original

Owner stated that his vehicle needs some attention. Statement of the year! I don’t believe this poor Porsche has ever been touched properly in its entire life. Surface was swirls city! Full of swirls, squirrels, scratches, hazing, and just dull/lifeless paint. Let’s breathe some life back into it!

The ‘details’:

Gary Dean shampoo. (finally used up the last of the gallon I had)
Medium clay mitt.
Adam’s Tire and Rubber cleaner.
Adam’s wheel cleaner.

DeFelsko PTG.
Flex 3401.
Flex pixie.
Rupes iBrid.
Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream.
Griot’s Perfecting Cream.
Optimum panel wipe.
22ple Mistico Elemento Forte.
GYEON Tire.
Auto Finesse Glass cleaner.
McKee’s37 Fast interior cleaner.

After the first hit:

Before I looked at the pics I wasn't too excited to see the car itself but rather the restoration. I say this because 930 cabs look like they're wearing a hat ontop....BUT this o e has a top I've never seen before, gives it a different look and because of THAT I was VERY happy to see the pics I especially like the Hella rear foglight too, nice touch

You literally performed a miracle here

Unbelievable correction, my friend! The second pic after "After the first hit" is phenomenal.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate the comments!!! I had a good time working on this, paint was 'cooperative' and responded well!

European vehicle. Owner purchased it in Germany and had it shipped to the states. Rear fog/parking light is factory! Top is a manual top, don't know if that is why it looks different to ya!

Paint makes it look like the owner used it for a hockey puck?

Nice restoration as is your norm...

:dblthumb2:

LOL Mike. Thank you! It has never really seen any love in it's life...that will change now!

Awesome as always....

Single stage paint?

Tom

It is because it has that wrap-around window like a targa

Really nice, Porsche King. Will need some pointers when my Carrera S (2022) comes in sometime in Nov,

Thanks all, ah, I see it now, yes, rear window area was able to be unzipped and removed!

Marky: NICE! Will need details/build info!

Tom, no, base/clear. Although at first I thought it was SS. I was getting a ton of crap on my pads...but not much by hand. Was almost like tinted clear! I figured out it was a load of embedded dirt in the paint. It was crazy!

Scott: will send you build info. My current CaymanS is just Duragloss products. I coated wife’s Lexus and my F150 with ceramic (Profi) a year ago n still going strong . Not sure if I should get car wrapped ( would be new for me).

Miracle worker. The paint looked like a 100k mile Michigan vehicle that gets covered in salt, then sent through the tunnel wash. Lol

Talk about back to black. Wow great work as always.
