I love these cars! :)
Having owned a G Body car myself, I was very excited to work on this one. The paint condition was about average for a black car of this age, but a few panels had been resprayed at different times over the years, and a few of them presented me with one of the most challenging paints I’ve ever had to finish down on. After pulling my hair out trying many, many different combinations of pads, polishes, tools, and techniques, I found a process that worked on those few finicky panels.

50/50, final polish still needed to be done

Some little piggies in a few areas that I wet sanded with 3000.

TA50 doing work on all the tight areas

All done

Thanks for looking,

Rasky

Not everyday you get to work on 1 of 547 of something! I had an 87' GN in the mid 90's and it was cool having a 12 second car when they weren't as common as they are now.

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

Great work on one of the most badass vehicles out there.
What do you have the car parked on while it is inside? Some type of ramp setup?

You did an awesome job on a killer car! Wish they still made them. One of the first production cars to beat the corvette. One question though...what bulbs are you using in your garage? Thanks

A pure classic muscle that revived the right amount of pampering
Amazing job well done

Beautiful .... I got to drive two of them when they were new. I swear I can still smell that new car smell, and tinging of the new exhaust.

Thanks Guys! This one had about 40K on the clock and the owner bought it to be a driver, which IMO is how it should be. :)

The ramps are need for lower sports/exotic cars to clear the lift. ;)

I have (8) 8' dual bulb T12 HO fixtures. I finished the shop off in 2006 and would have went with T8 or T5 if I had it to do over again. I'd also incorporate some side lighting too.

Nice! I actually never really new about the GNX until the early 2000's when I noticed the subtle differences and asked my old man about it. I always just thought they were another GN. If you haven't watch the documentary "Black Air", while it wasn't great, it was nice to learn more about the history of the cars. :props:

Anything Gbody is car porn for me. My first car was a 85 Cutlass. I'll forever have a love for them.

Amazing work!

Geez man a 63 Impala, 50's pick up, and now a GNX, please tell me you have a Hemi Cuda to post next. You have a great gift in detailing and thanks for sharing your skills.

Looks fantastic. Friend of mine one street over has a GNX with less than 50 original miles. Purchased it new. He has more willpower than me. I'd have drove the wheels off it by now.

Beautiful rasky! I'm gonna start to call you the king of black paint :)

Top job mate !

Remember when they came out I wanted one but I was too young !
