1995 Rio Red Mustang (1st timer)

Keep at it. Persistence is key. You'll be happy you did in the end. Keep up the good work.

Good job. There's a learning curve, like anything else. M105 is my 'go to' product.

Do you have a favorite tire dressing? I use Meguiar's NXT gel.

I haven't done the wheels yet, but today tried something new, I guess this is good as i should expect on the plastics?

Can someone tell me how to clean the carpet, do I need to get a carpet shampooer? or do i just spray APC ont he carpet?

Use a good carpet cleaner such as Folex, available at Home Depot, and spray it on the surface and then agitate with a carpet brush. After that, try to "wipe" away any dirt on the surface. You may have to do this several times to get to a satisfied end result. Then vacuum over the entire surface trying to get as much moisture out as possible. There are a couple great threads on here that will help you with this process as well. Hope I answered your question adequately. If you have any more questions don't be afraid to ask.

Today I did the driverside fender, How come I cant get it perfect? Do I not have enough patience? or do i need something better then the porter cable to correct faster. I guess most of my scratches accumulated over the years are deep into the clear coat.

It's a good improvement, but as far as your comment for getting it perfect, you can't expect to finish out completely using a yellow pad and 105. You can see in the second picture a good amount of micro marring from the pad - this is to be expected. If you want it to be "perfect" or close to it, you'll need to follow up with a less aggressive combination such as a white pad and 205.

Also for the remaining scratch and removing that, it depends. Can you catch a finger nail on it? It may be too deep to remove. Or you may not have made enough passes to fully remove it. What speed are you running the PC? How fast are you moving machine? How big of an area are you working? Many factors come in to play.

Love the Rio Red, this thread makes me miss my 94...

Welcome to AGO

I like how the trunk came out , did you follow up with the 205?
As said you must follow up with step two when using m105.
You're on the right track:)

Those headlights will need some sanding then polish them out.

I usually follow up with the white pad and 205, but I can't see any difference afterwards. Maybe I need better lighting in my garage or perhaps my technique is good enough for cutting but not good enough for polishing. I imagine with the 205 & white pad I will want to use less pressure on the porter cable & try to let it spin up but perhaps its not doing anything. I use speed 5 on my porter cable with the 5.5in pads. Around the curves of the car Ive noticed it prefers speed 6 otherwise it can stop spinning.
