Hey guys!

Heres a quick teaser, i got the engine finished today and managed to sand down/level all of the touch up paint the owner applied.

Enjoy!

Glue cleaned up from the pad replacement

Rinse it down with garden hose pressure to remove large contaminates, scrub large areas with a small wheel wooly and megs apc and super degreaser.

Then 2 hours with the vx5000 blasting away caked on grime on the aluminum and what not along with a crappy microfiber for the other grunge work.

Dressed with chem guys fade to black then wiped down with a clean towel. Exterior plastics/those exposed to water more frequently got black wow.

Love those older sl mercs.Nice work he should be very happy.

For how great that Engine and Bay now looks, one would think it took a couple months of work! Quiet a difference indeed, wow.

update for today. I guess i'll just leave this as a running detail thread

Wheels with Sonax full effect and wheel woolies
tires/wheel wells with megs APC and super degreaser

Washed with chem guys critrus and a lambs wool
IronX
Blue magic blue clay with megs last touch as lube

Paint chips leveled with megs 3000 grit uni

Paint correction with Menzerna FG400 and megs microfiber pad on rupes 21, and 75, and.... nano with blue and yellow.
Polishing is going to be with the rupes 21, 75, and nano with rupes yellow on yellow

You all got a pretty good idea on how the paint condition was right? Good, lets continue!

Im running out of room in my garage. Any one else have that problem?

Awesome! Can't wait for finished shots! LOL, yes, doesn't really matter how big the garage is, it always seems like there is never enough room!

SHE IS DONE!!!

Rear bumper before fg400 and microfiber cutting pad.

After

Anyone who says FG400 doesnt dust... bite me. Other than that, it finished down well enough that a light buff with rupes yellow on yellow perfected it.

After rupes yellow

Compound haze from the FG400

Almost done polishing...

Completely bare paint ready for CQuartz

AAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDD.... early morning prep, getting ready for the owner to pick it up

Reload applied, ready to go!!!!

That was one hell of a detail but it was so worth it. Hope you all enjoy!

PS. Just purchased a DeFelsko PosiTector 200 B3 Advanced :D

Thank you, Thank you! The owner was beyond pleased. This spring i'll be doing a '55 morgan +4 and a '98 aston martin DB 7 from him.

Very excited about both!
