Man that car needs some work...looking forward to the write up and the pictures.

By the way I like the 50/50 shot...looks wicked.

Gotta post quick cause I'm dead tired from this detail and going to sleep haha. I did the wash, degrease, wheels, tires, clay, engine detail in 2ish hours yesterday night.

Today I woke up at 7 to buff it for what I though would only take 5 hours, but really took 8, ugh, what a pain this car was.

I did:

CG's Citrus Wash N' Gloss
Meg's Chenile ultra plush wash mitts
Amazing roll off full strength on the wheels and tires
dry with guzzler
4* clay
yellow 4" edge 2k pads with pc 7424 at speed 6 with OC
green 4" edge 2k pads with pc 7424 at speed 5-6 with OP
white 4" edge 2k pad with pc 7424 at speed 4 with CK CMW
sonus, cobra, danase mf toweling
CK quik shine on glass
optimum tire shine on trim and tires (love the stuff for trim)

Well, we also had a new oe painted rear bumper to replace the trashed stock one as you will see from the before pics. My detail matches a fresh painted bumper on a 99 with 75K miles, I'm happy. :D

Awesome detail, bro! Did you gbet rid of "XBOX" scratches?
I though that xbox is actually for Scion Xb?:D

Dude who the heck wrote that XBOX on the car! You turned that Mustang around. Now she's a black beauty.

X2 on if the XBOX scratch is gone.

Great turnaround on the Mustang.
Well Done.
Dave

Xbox for all intents and purposes is gone, it was lightly keyed one night by some a-hole when my buddie Mike had his Stang parked out in a Best Buy parking lot. I'm going to wetsand it soon though.

Thanks for the comments guys, this car soaked up the Carnauba moose wax like no other. :)

Well done Nimble, wow that vehicle looks amazing. The turn around is great, the vehicle looks really wet...wow.

I was going to ask if you had to wetsand the Xbox....dude that is just wrong, gets me going when I see people do things like that.....rrrr...

Good job!!

Nica-

I've only wetsanded once, but the polishing lightened it so much that I think going over it once with the sandpaper should do the trick. Thanks for the nice comments too, appreciate it after a hard day's work. :)

Extrodinary turn around. She looks awesome! Love the reflection shots.

Appreciate the comments Sparkie! :)

Awesome turnaround!! She's black and wet now!! Love that 50/50 shot of the hood!!
How do you rate the cutting power of OC? Somewhere between XMT3 & XMT4? I hear there's minimal dusting with OC as well.

I don't use the XMT products, so I can't make that call, but I can definitely tell you OC is not as aggressive as XMT4 from what I've read, but probably a *bit* more aggressive than XMT3. I've tried and did not like the PB's polishes and all I've heard is the XMT line is about the same, works but dusts. See Optimum works even better than any dusting polish I've tried, and even when the pads build up, only them will OC *very* ever so slightly dust. They rock when you're trying to keep your garage clean. :D

I bet OHC is on par with the XMT4 though, as it is known to take anything out, especialy with a rotary. For super high quality polishes that dust a bit, but work sickly well, try Chemical Guy's Diamond Cut 1500, or Four Star body shop Medium Cut Compound. I only use a PC, so anything more aggressive than that won't break down.
