Well after tons of advice and help from you guys, and insanely patient tutoring from Mike I am finished with my first full project. My baby is looking brand new now.
To recap here is what I ran through :
1) wash with Carpro Reset
2) IronX decon
3) poly shave with the PC buffer and clay lube in lieu of clay. This was a dream. It cut hours off the job. Used a whole bottle of lube but it was worth it.
4) re cleaned with Carpro Eraser to remove any clay lube and contaminant.
4.5) fully masked all vents, trim, and weather stripping with 3m green auto body masking and blue vinyl 3m masking. Took forever...
5) orange LC pad with Wolfgang TSR 3.0
6) eraser IPa to remove residue
7) black LC pad with Wolfgang finishing glaze
8) thurough IPA/eraser wipe down to take it back to sterile
9) final Cquartz coating on EVERYTHING. The very last drop finished my last rim. Perfect amount for such a big car.
Anyway, here she is. No swirls not nicks, just pure factory paint from 2010... Nice I think :)

You can save a bit of time by skipping the Eraser wipe down between TSR and WGFG

Some people will do a quick rinse between compound and polish steps if there is excessive dusting

You were correct to do a wipedown after WGFG before applying the coating

Yeah I will do that next time for sure. I used way too much eraser. I really wanted to see the un-biased effects of my section passes as I was doing it for the first time. I didn't know what to expect as far as oil residue from the TSR/WGFG. It was easy to wipe off and now that I trust the products and process I'll definitely consolidate those steps to save on the ipa.

Your first attempt brought out amazing results on that Benz's paintwork, keep up the great work

First time hearing about polyshave (new to detailing...). That looks very appealing!

Awesome results man! :props:

It could be just me, BUT, I could swear it about 3 times more fun to drive now :)

When you put as much time and effort as you have here into such a painstaking process, it really does bring back "connection" with the car, doesn't it? Well done! Looks beautiful. I wish I had the time and patience to do that to each of my cars.

Great job and yes I agree that the eraser wipedown in between compound and polish along with after decon were unnecessary.
