This was my first time ever doing a real correction. Man I learned A LOT. I used the Megs DA MF. I think I really should have used something stronger. I had no idea how bad of shape the car was in unitl I got in to it. It is my mom's DD. It is 12 years old also. It had a mist of some type of paint on it (white dots/film in pics). It was even on the rubber and glass so it wasn't oxidation. That stuff was a PAIN to remove. The swirling and scractches were REALLY bad. It really took a lot of work and wore me out so bad I didn't even get to the interior. It took me 16-18 hours for the wash, clay, and correction. I put 2 layers of WGDGPS 3.0 on and one of Pinnacle Liquid Sovereign. I wanted to put Collinite 476 on instead but it didn't arrive in time. I also put a coating of Rain-X on all windows. The tires were dressed with Megs Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel.

Thanks! I'll look into that.

Looks good to me. Nice work!

From the looks from this picture, it looks like nothing has been done to the paint for a long time....

Still looks like there's some swirls left?

Regardless you made a HUGE difference...

Only thing my mom did was bring it to a "full service" wash. Don't think it ever really saw a real wax or sealant. The pictures don't do it justice for how bad it was.

What after picture did you see swirling on?

I will. Thanks!

Pretty much. She gave me some money to cover my product cost and help me get more!!! :dblthumb2: Thanks!

Fantastic work! I recently got the DA MF system as well, only had time to correct the hood of my car thus far, but the system is incredible. Garage smelled of blueberries whilst apply the D301, which was awesome.

In this shot it's labeled "Before" but it looks like a section you've buffed and there are still swirls, so I didn't know if you continued working the spot and the rest of the car to reach a swirl free finish or stopped after the paint improved and became more clear like the shiny spot.

Regardless, looks great for your first full correction.

What did you think of the Megs DA system?

That picture is an after wash but before clay and correction.

I loved the system. I'm starting to get the hang of it. I learned on this car that the Megs DA system is not a be all end all system though. This car really needed something stronger (heavier compound) so I wasn't working sooooo hard. I didn't have anything else on hand though. I was thinking maybe the Menzerna compound. I think the machine needed to do more of the work and not me.

Thanks for looking and the compliment Mike! :xyxthumbs:

I'd stay away from diminishing abrasives and the MF pads. D300 is pretty strong, but if you want something stronger, try M105.

Ha ha... I though you buffed a section...

Yeah like Mark recommended, for more power with a product that will work with the Microfiber pads get some M105 or Ultimate Compound.

Again... nice save!
