1st full correction ever - used Megs DA MF

I'd stay away from diminishing abrasives and the MF pads. D300 is pretty strong, but if you want something stronger, try M105.
M105 with MF pads? I do have stronger LC foam pads too. How about those with the Menzerna? OR just stay away from diminishing abrasives all together?

Diminishing abrasives are great, they just work better with foam pads. The MF pad will cut and finish better than any foam pad out there that I've tried, but they're dresigned to work best with non-diminishing abrasives.

D300 has less bite than UC?

I don't know that for sure but both the M105 and the UC are very competent compounds as is the D300

Meguiar's has not officially stated where D300 fits as it relates to how aggressive it is but my guess is D300 is a tick more aggressive, if not then I'd say they're close. But they are very different products. I hope to hear back from Meguiar's on this topic this week, so then we'll all know.

Keep in mind the tricky part about determining how aggressive a product is requires that you take into account how the product is intended to be applied.

I actually have a phone call into Meguiar's on this topic as I want to update my article and picture here,

The Aggressiveness Order of SMAT Products - This might surprise you!

From the most to the least aggressive...
M105 Ultra-Cut Compound/M95 Speed Cut Compound = The same in abrading power

With a DA, you will have limits. I have tried many different pads/polishes. Nothing just melts the paint away. I have come to accept the limits of DA polishing. The MF System makes the DA polisher about as efficient as possible.

If you want faster removal, then rotary and/or wet sanding would be the next step. I plan to start to learn these techniques this year.

D300 has less bite than UC?

Just heard back from Meguiar's and while they prefaced the answer with the major point that it's hard to categorize the aggressive ranking of products easily because they are always a lot of variables involved and variables can great affect the aggressiveness or non-aggressiveness of a product.

That said, if all other factors were kept the same, type of tool, type of pad, same person dong the work, same technique being used, paint system the same for all work, then D300 would rank as less aggressive than M95 and a tick more aggressive than Ultimate Compound.

Great question Mark!

Great follow up!! Thanks for that info!!

Can I use M95 with the MF pads? Or do I need to go to a foam pad?
