2007 Mazda 3, Black Metallic

A customer brought me his girlfriend’s car and dropped it off last night. He wanted to see what I could do for it. It definitely needed some time in the operating room with the doc @ Autodermatology!!!

The paint was severely contaminated, swirled, marred, and in general poor condition. This vehicle had the most orange peel I have EVER seen on a vehicle! It was horrendous!

The process:

2 bucket wash with Adam’s car shampoo.
Wheels and tires: Adam’s deep wheel cleaner. Tuf Shine tire cleaner. Daytona and misc brushes.
Clayed with Optimum Opti-Eraser-Aggressive grade. This was done twice.
Final claying was done with Megs Aggressive clay.
Adam’s Detail Spray was used as lube.
Flex 3401. Cutting pads-I don’t remember what ones I used.
Griots BOSS Fast Correcting Cream.
Final polish was with HD Speed.
LSP was Megs 365 Paint Protect.
Glass: SCG cleaner and clarifying glass sealant.
Engine plastics: cleaned with 1Z APC and treated with Blackfire AIO trim and tire.
Interior: vacuumed via Metro vac and cleaned and protected with Adam’s TID.
Tire dressing: Kenotek vinyl and leather conditioner.

I believe I covered everything. I hope you enjoyed my write-up and the pictures!
Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! Yeah, they were both blown away, made my day!!

Great job and that is one nice garage!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that paint was ugly! Excellent turnaround. Looks like a brand new car now.

Did you find the Mazda paint to lack the deep, dark blackness of some other blacks, even when done? I too did multiple steps on black 2007 Mazda3 and looked great in the garage/shade but looks a bit washed out in the sun.

No swirls, great reflections but not the deep, mirrored gloss when next to our black Vette and black WRX.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the comments.

Budget: No, not really. I found that it had excellent depth, shine, and reflectivity when completed...especially from where it started! LOL

I see you are having some fun there in Naples, Florida
The "black pearl" Mazda paint & all similar cars finish can shine just like my adopted little black pet raven  can fly just not yet.
Most such car manufacturers use paint for mass market that only they know what it is so you made the impossible my friend - you just polished it.
The good news is that most people think of such paint finishes as acceptable & they don't see the difference between this & that black etc. plus car care companies sell a lot of stuff to this market who in fact don't need it at all.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...Mazda & others are cheating the consumers who pay money for this raven "paints"
People who seriously think such cars can be polished or even waxed are wrong

Thanks Shark! Crazy pet you have ! Lol

Thanks Mike! It was crazy beat!
